LOOR works with Nautical Cloud to Enhance Offshore Racing Experience.

LOOR is excited to announce a new relationship with Nautical Cloud to provide advanced registration and race management services for its offshore racing events over the next three seasons. This collaboration aims to enhance functionalities for all participants and eliminate redundant requirements for racers participating in multiple LOOR events.

Nautical Cloud is a pioneering yacht race management platform designed to transform the complexities of yacht racing. Initially developed for JOG and later adopted by the Royal Ocean Racing Club (RORC), it has expanded globally, revolutionizing how races are organized, managed, and experienced. Key innovations include real-time scoring, AI-powered event management, customizable portals, and streamlined compliance processes. Nautical Cloud continues to evolve, supporting events like the Newport to Bermuda Race and Chicago Mac Race, and engaging over 1.2 million visitors from 171 countries. Its impact has been profound, enabling organizers to deliver world-class sailing events with smaller teams while boosting operational efficiency and elevating the overall experience for competitors, sponsors, and fans. Nautical Cloud is one of the four nominees for the 2024 World Sailing Technology Award.

LOOR will launch registration on the Nautical Cloud platform for the 2025 season ahead of the Toronto International Boat Show, scheduled for January 18-26, 2025. To ensure a smooth transition, LOOR will provide detailed documentation and updated instructional videos on its YouTube channel to guide participants in effectively using Nautical Cloud.

Ontario Sailing holds Offshore Personal Survival Course (OPSC) {two day} at Barrie Yacht Club on Saturday, December 7th and Sunday, December 8th.

While LOOR Offshore Special Regulations (OSR) Category 3 races, LO300/LO600, Susan Hood Trophy Race, and LOSHRS Race 4 (Long Distance) only require the Coastal Personal Survival Course (CPSC) {One Day}, this course is accepted as an equivalent. You should consider this course, instead of the CPSC, if any of the following apply to you:

·     Location and timing is better for you than the CPSC, which will only be offered in the spring of 2025 and usually on weekdays because of logistics.

·     Considering participating in an OSR Category 0, 1, or 2 race in the next five years as this is course required for a percentage of the crew and the is no bridging course between the CPSC and OSPC.

·     Consider cruising offshore with a life raft.

Details or to register for this or any Ontario Sailing’s Personal Survival Courses:

1.   Go to www.ontariosailing.ca

2.   Click on Course Registration on the upper right hand corner

3.   Select the category of Offshore and Coastal Survival Courses under Course Level.
