January Energy Legislation

January 20 - H.R. 432: Buy Low and Sell High Act

Introduced by Rep. Frank Pallone [D-NJ6], this bill would lower consumer fuel prices, and for other purposes.


January 20 - H.R. 404: Tennessee Valley Authority Transparency Act of 2023

Introduced by Rep. Tim Burchett [R-TN2], this bill would require certain meetings of the Tennessee Valley Authority to be transparent and open to the public, and for other purposes.


January 20 - H.R. 433: California Central Coast Conservation Act

Introduced by Rep. Jimmy Panetta [D-CA19], this bill would establish a moratorium on oil and gas leasing on public land on the Central Coast of California.


January 13 - H.R. 356: Unleashing American Energy Act

Introduced by Rep. Jerry Carl [R-AL1], this bill would require the Secretary of the Interior to conduct a minimum number of oil and gas lease sales in certain areas, to prevent delays in oil and gas leasing, and for other purposes.


January 12 - H.R. 337: GAS Act

Introduced by Rep. Darrell Issa [R-CA48], this bill would prevent any government agency from banning gas stoves nationwide.


January 11 - H.R. 293: Banning Oil Exports to Foreign Adversaries Act

Introduced by Rep. Chrissy Houlahan [D-PA6], this bill would amend the Energy Policy and Conservation Act to prohibit the export or sale of petroleum products from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to certain entities, and for other purposes.

Introduced by Rep. Bill Huizenga [R-MI4], this bill would prevent any government agency from banning gas stoves nationwide.

January 9 - H.R. 209: Permitting for Mining Needs Act of 2023

Introduced by Rep. Pete Stauber [R-MN8], this bill would improve the permitting process for mining on Federal land, and for other purposes.

Introduced by Rep. Andy Biggs [R-AZ5], this bill would achieve domestic energy independence by empowering States to control the development and production of all forms of energy on all available Federal land.

Introduced by Rep. Stephanie Bice [R-OK5], this bill would prohibit the sale of petroleum products from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to certain entities, and for other purposes.


January 9 - H.R. 222: No Oil for CCP Act

Introduced by Rep. Robert Wittman [R-VA1], this bill would direct the Secretary of Energy to require as a condition of any sale of crude oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve that the crude oil not be exported to certain countries, and for other purposes.
