President's Letter

WHIT YEAR IN REVIEW


WHIT is grateful for the opportunity to create a personalized community for our members in HIT. Throughout 2022, WHIT hosted and facilitated intimate webinars and panel discussions where our members shared personal stories and learned from each other’s experiences. Most notably, we also heard from key industry leaders like Theresa Meadows, SVP & CIO from Cook Children’s Health Care System, and Steve Hernandez, Director of Career Advancement from Wharton School of Business.


WHIT continues to foster strong connections amongst women in HIT through our mentorship program. We have had many successful mentorship pairings where HIT female leaders pay it forward by imparting their challenges & success to the younger generation. We continue to grow our program by rolling out a peer mentorship program in 2023.


I am ever so grateful to our sponsors in 2022 who served as our allies in amplifying the female voice in HIT. Our members have been incredible while showing vulnerability and trust in engaging in dialogue during our small group discussions. I am excited as I look ahead to 2023 and the plans WHIT has in store for this community. I hope to receive your ongoing support and partnership in providing a community for women in HIT. SPECIAL PROGRAMS

Mentorship Update

The Mentorship Committee has lots of exciting things planned for 2023. We will continue our Ask An Industry Leader quarterly series with topics planned on mentoring, staff engagement, & building your network. In January we will be launching an advice column blog called Dear Whitty Women, so be on the lookout for that on our WHIT LinkedIn page & website. In the latter part of the first quarter of 2023, we plan to kick off a peer-to-peer mentoring program. In addition to all this, we will continue to offer our traditional one-on-one mentoring program, with two new cohorts or mentor-mentee pairs beginning in April and again in October.
