Greetings From Mr. Estes... |
Dear SASEAS Families,
I am grateful for this opportunity to share with our families weekly. However, I must admit that there are times when I find it challenging to devote time to my portion of the Titan Times amidst my other responsibilities. This has been one of those weeks when I find myself scrambling to meet Mrs Clayton’s deadline; I am also grateful for her patience : ). Hopefully, even during our challenging times, we can condition ourselves to look for the opportunity to express gratitude for something; it really is a powerful way to influence our own perspective and create positive change in our community.
Thank you to our Parent Teacher Organization and the volunteers who are providing food for our teachers on conference nights. Parent conferences are a critical part of the learning process but those days can feel quite long at times. Your generosity makes a big difference for the faculty and is greatly appreciated. Thank you as well to the many families who are taking advantage of the opportunity to collaborate with teachers during this time; please continue to communicate with teachers as necessary throughout the academic year.
Congratulations to our SASEAS girls for their first place finish in their 6th grade end of season volleyball tournament! Thank you for bringing in your trophy to display and share with our students; I have spoken with several inquisitive students in the younger grades about “how you get one of those”. I am glad to see your hard work and dedication being rewarded.
Our annual SASEAS Run 4 Fun will be happening this Friday, please join us if you are able. See the reminders section for details for the day as well as for other upcoming events.
Make it a great week!
God Bless,
Paul Estes

As we approach Halloween, pumpkins are making an appearance at the preschool. Mrs. Christina’s class is learning what’s inside a pumpkin and making observations about pumpkins in science. They are sorting pumpkins by size, painting pumpkins in art, and learning the “5 Little Pumpkins” song. Their religion lesson this week is about kindness. Mrs. Sheila’s class is learning about the Pumpkin Life Cycle and are working on a Colors of Fall coloring book. They are making pumpkins that will “Shine with the Light of Jesus” in religion.
Our four-year-old preschool classes are dissecting, measuring, and weighing pumpkins this week. In Math they are counting pumpkins while working with ten frames. They are discussing the life cycle of the pumpkin in science and their religion lesson is about God’s shining light. They are making pumpkin lanterns as they discuss how to let their light shine.
The five-year-old class also has a Pumpkin theme this week as they study the stages of the pumpkin life cycle. In language arts they are pulling sight words from a pumpkin and stamping them. In art they are making a “5 Little Pumpkins on a Gate” project. In science they are building a haunted house for a ghost, and in Religion they are learning about God’s promise to Noah, the promise to take care of all people and animals.

Titan Run for Fun is just around the corner. This year we are excited to bring back a color run. The primary school students will be running on Friday, October 18, 2024, at the Seton Campus. Although not all preschool classes are in session that date, we are inviting every preschool family to join us at the run on October 18th.
Starting at morning dismissal (11:20), preschool students can go to the back field, accompanied by their parent or caregiver, and join in the run. Children in our PEDAL program will attend the run prior to eating lunch that day.
Children not in school on Friday should plan on arriving at school at 11:15 and proceed to the back field. We hope to see you there!
