Thank You Pi Day Volunteers!

A super big thank you to Pi Day volunteers who braved the cold and a little bit of chaos that required some flexing to help distribute over 100 pie orders for pi day on Thursday March 9th.

Special thanks to: Jocelyn N., Jade P., Lara L., Mansur K., Sam L., Shilpa R., Pam M., Branda A., and Roo N. Your help was very much appreciated!

And thank you to all of our families who donated pies to our staff this year! What a great opportunity to show appreciation to our teachers and staff.

Keurig-cup Coffee Pod Donations for Staff Lounge

Coffee for the staff lounge is provided solely out of pocket for the teachers. We did a donation drive back in October and have had a few other donations between now and then (tea, hot chocolate, to go cups, creamers, sugar, etc...even an extra Keurig machine!), and the coffee supply is currently running low.

If you feel so inclined, please signup to donate some Keurig cup coffee pods to help fuel the staff to the end of the school year!

The staff have been incredibly appreciative this year. Costco sized boxes would be appreciated, but any amount would be helpful.

Grad Night Tickets on Sale on March 27

Grad Night tickets go on sale on March 27th. The starting price per ticket is $150.

The price will increase to $175 on April 28th, and to $200 on May 15th.

Ticket sales close on May 22nd. So, make sure you purchase your ticket early to take advantage of the lowest price!

2023 RHS PTSA Senior Scholarships

The 2023 RHS PTSA Senior Scholarships application is now open.

Graduating seniors are eligible to apply for scholarships of $1000 which may be used towards payment of tuition at a two-year college, four-year college, vocational school, room and board for on-campus housing, or required textbooks.

Applications are due on April 17th, 2023.

2023 LWPTSA Council Scholarships Available

Lake Washington PTSA Council is pleased to roll out our 2023 Scholarship Program! Council offers several student scholarships and two $500 staff scholarships each spring.

This year's Student Scholarship Program will include 15 scholarships of $1,250 each:

8 Merit scholarships
1 LWEA/Teeley scholarship (funded by the LWEA)
2 Perseverance scholarships
1 Turnaround scholarship
1 Two-year, technical or vocational scholarship
2 At-large scholarships

Applications for both staff and student scholarships are due by 11:59 pm on Wednesday, March 29th. LWPTSA Council's Scholarship Program is funded by money raised at our annual scholarship fundraising auction, by annual donations from the 44 PTAs/PTSAs in the LWSD, the LWEA, and by donations from the greater community.

Equity in Family Engagement Conference March 25th & 26th

Would you like to learn from national and local experts and hear diverse family voices.

Become empowered to create welcoming, inclusive, equitable schools

that support the achievement of all students?

You can attend the Equity in Family Engagement Conference and find out the latest equitable school-family partnership strategies, models and research from renowned national and local experts. Hear parent and student voices. Take amazing workshops and get inspired to transform your school.

The conference will be held from 9:00am-3:00pm on Saturday, March 25th and 9:00am-12:00pm on Sunday, March 26th. This is a live, remote event and sessions will not be recorded.

If you are interested, able to attend the entire conference, and want to bring change to RHS; please reach out to Felice at treasurer@redmondhsptsa.org about how this fits with our School of Excellence plan. Your registration my be covered through the program.

VOLUNTEERING

RHS Student Volunteer Opportunity

The junior scientists of Wilder Elementary need you! We are looking for high school volunteers to supervise activity stations at the Wilder STEM Night & Science Fair.

The STEM Fair is from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm on March 30th and will include student project viewing plus math games, science and engineering activities, interactive demonstrations, science and math focused art, and tons more.

Arrive at 5:45 for a quick orientation, then have fun assisting attendees as they participate in activities.

You'll have a great time AND volunteer hour credit is available! High school students are required to have an approved student volunteer form on file, which can be found here.

RHS students can return their completed form to their school office or email to volunteers@lwsd.org

Volunteers Needed for Spring Fling Dance!

Volunteers needed on Friday, March 31st to help with coat check, photo booth and snack table replenishing (snacks will be provided by ASB).

Feel free to sign up for one or more spots, as long as the timing doesn't conflict!

Upon arrival please checkin with Mr. Dinello.

Get Your RHS Spirit Blanket and Support Grad Night!

For a limited time, the PTSA is selling custom-made RHS spirit blankets. Proceeds go to support Grad Night to help offset the cost of the event and provide scholarships for students to make the event accessible to any graduating senior who wants to attend.

Blankets are $75 each and are only available for a limited time-until they are sold out.

Act fast to get yours today! Blankets will be available for pick-up later this month.

Grad Night Hanging Basket Fundraiser

Support Grad Night and brighten your garden with a beautiful hanging basket. Baskets are 12", and you can choose a sun or shade basket.

Orders are due by March 31st.

Pick up baskets on May 12th, just in time for Mother's Day (pick up time between 1-3pm).
