This year's Convention Theme applies the Invite Welcome Connect initiative with a focus on rising generations, the third component (Parousia III) of the overall Diocesan Vision ‘Parousia - God’s Vision for God’s Church on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Guest speaker, Melissa Rau, will offer insights and answer questions on this topic.
Registration Deadline: Due to limited seating, only those registered individuals with voice, voice and vote, guests of the Convention, or staff and official volunteers are admitted to the floor of convention and should register using this Registration Link (deadline is February 27th). 

Live Streaming: Those who are observing and have no seat at Convention may participate through the livestream broadcast on the Episcopal Diocese of Easton Facebook page or on the broadcast website.
Support our Diocesan Food Pantries Convention attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to Convention 2023 to help food pantries around the Diocese. All cash and online donations collected during the event will also support this effort. Consider hosting a food drive and sending the collected items with delegates to Convention. Let’s work together and support these ministries!
Volunteer (Southern Convocation Members) Members of the Parishes of the Southern Convocation: Your help is needed to fill volunteer positions to support the work of the 155th Convention of the Diocese of Easton. This page provides information for volunteers and a link to sign up. Episcopal Youth Event 2023
Join the Diocese of Easton's delegation to EYE! The Episcopal Church's Triennial youth event returns this Summer! High School students from across the globe will gather at the University of MD College Park this July 3rd-8th. Registration is now open for this once in a lifetime opportunity! Adult mentors are also invited to EYE23. Deadline to register is March 6th.
Lenten Difference Course
Join us on Zoom this Lent to experience the Difference Course. The course will run for five Thursdays in March from 12pm - 1:30pm. Sponsored by the Diocese's Diversity Awareness Commission.
Camp Wright Youth Summit: Weekend of April 28th-30th, 2023
Registration will be opening in early March for the Camp Wright Youth Summit! The Summit is open to youth ages 11 and up and is led by a Design Team of High School and adult leaders. Please email the Diocesan Youth Missioner if you have any high schoolers (10th-12th grade) who might be interested in serving on the Design Team (deadline to apply is March 6th).
The Diocese is Hosting a Shred Day on Wednesday, March 22nd!!!! Parishes and parishioners are welcome to drop off boxed documents at the Diocesan offices for shredding during business hours, Monday & Tuesday, March 20th & 21st. No drop offs on March 22nd. Please keep the weight of each box manageable to prevent injuries to yourself and others who may have to carry them. Please remove your documents from three-ring binders or plastic covers, however staples, binder and paper clips are allowed. We have arranged for "Shred Instead" to pick up all materials on March 22nd. The Episcopal Church Archives has a Records Management for Congregations guide that you may find helpful; thank you to Jefferson Moak for sharing this resource. Contact Megan Timms with questions or if you need to schedule a time other than March 20th or 21st to drop off documents.   
Congratulations to The Venerable Loretta Collins on your retirement!! The Bishop's Office hosted a celebration in honor of Loretta's many years of service to the Diocese. Bishop San honored both Loretta and Patrick Collins with Citations of Appreciation. Loretta was recognized for her dedication and committed service to the Diocese of Easton, as Archdeacon, Vicar of St. Luke’s Parish, Church Hill, including St. Andrew’s Church, Sudlersville, and Registrar of the Iona Collaborative for Clergy Formation.
Patrick was recognized for his dedication and committed service to the Diocese of Easton, as Canon to the Ordinary, Rector of All Faith Chapel – Tunis Mills, and Diocesan Registrar. Most importantly for his service to our Bishop, as confidant and friend. We wish them much happiness in their future endeavors. May Almighty God, continue to enrich their lives with the wisdom of His grace and power of love!

FRIENDLY REMINDER!! 2022 Parochial Report filings are due by March 1, 2023. Parishes should have received correspondence from The Episcopal Church concerning 2022 Parochial Reports. If you have questions about how to fill out your Parochial Report, review these links for help and guidance! Joint Standing Committee on Nominations opens applications for Episcopal Church positions, committees, boards. These elections will occur at the 81st General Convention of the Episcopal Church, in Louisville, KY, late-June ‘24!! ALL are encouraged to consider nominees AND to consider being nominated! The Church needs good, experienced individuals!! Eddie Vance, a member of the Joint Standing Committee on Nominations from the Diocese of Easton, commends this process to you! Mission Summit 2023: Mark your calendars for October 7th, 2023 as the Mission Summit returns with a Ministry Fair & "Tailgate Party" at Christ Church, Kent Island. Each church will have a chance to share their top success stories and provide one another with tools for applying these ideas across the Diocese. (Not to mention amazing food, lotsa fun & great fellowship!)

Camp Wright Update: We are still accepting Staff Applications for our 2023 team - counselors, kitchen, maintenance staff and other positions are available. Information about all of our available positions can be found on our website.

Summer Camp 2023 registration opened on November 1 and we currently have a waitlist in most sessions, but we expect to have a lot of shift on the waitlists in the coming weeks. Please register your camper as soon as possible and we will let you know when a spot becomes available. Your credit card will not be charged until your camper has been placed in a session. Latino & Hispanic Ministry: Is your parish hosting Latino & Hispanic Ministry events? If so, please remember to send information to Mark Hansen our Missioner for Latino/Hispanic Ministries for the Diocese of Easton.

Latino Leadership training days to be led by Padre Thom Sinnott and Pastor Mark Hansen Feb 18, May 13, Aug 12 & Nov 11, with each session running from 10 am to 3:00 pm; the venue is slated to be the new English Learning Center at St. Clement’s. For more information, contact Mark Hansen.

The Easton English School at Trinity Cathedral, Wednesday from 7pm-8:30pm - English as a Second Language (ESL) classes for Easton’s immigrant adult population. Since that first week of class, the school has grown to well over 25 enrollees who come each week for lively, focused lessons. Students may enter the program any time, and the classes are free. AROUND THE DIOCESE
Solemn Communion Classes, beginning on February 28th. Christ Church Easton's Solemn/First Communion classes help children better appreciate and understand the gift of communion. Classes are open to all children in the 2nd grade and up (including those already receiving communion). The class will meet on Tuesdays throughout Lent, starting Tuesday, February 28 at 4:30 pm and ending at 6:00 pm.To learn more and register for First Communion classes, please click here.
Finding Christ in the World: 6-week Retreat in Everyday Life, Wednesdays beginning March 1st from 4:30 - 6:00pm The cost for the course is $40, which covers the cost of the book. For more information and to register for the course, please click this link.

Lenten Book Studies: "Into the Mess" & "Tattoos on the Heart"
"Tattoos on the Heart" on Tuesday evenings and "Into the Mess" on Thursday evenings, on Zoom and in-person each can make for a Spirit-filled Lenten season. Lent is a perfect time to go deeper in your faith, to cut out distractions and connect to God and other people looking to do the same.

Trinity Cathedral, Easton - Save the Date - On Sunday, March 12th at 3:00 p.m., Trinity Cathedral will celebrate the life of Harriet Ross Tubman. This celebration will include a performance by Millicent Sparks, a widely acclaimed re-enactor of Harriet Ross Tubman, as well as a musical offering by the Bay Hundred Covenant Choir. A reception will follow in Miller Hall.
St. Clement's, Massey - recently celebrated The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity along with The People of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Chestertown. Guest Speaker was The Rev. James Gardiner, SAFranciscan Society of the Atonement, Graymoor NYDirector of Special ProjectsMonastery of the Holy Land, Washington DC .
