COMMITTEE SPOTLIGHT

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT & TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE

Current Economic Development & Transportation Committee Chair, Alvin Stewart, smiles as he shares refreshments with Evie Hungerford, Past Committee Chair

The Economic Development & Transportation Committee came together at the Black Box Theatre on December 1st. This was the committee's first in-person meeting since the 2020 shutdown.

Hosted by Evie Hungerford and Pam Frank at the Black Box Theatre in Indian Head, committee members and interested parties joined community leaders to discuss the ongoing revitalization of Indian Head.

Pam Frank stressed the importance of the military presence to the area, and the high value jobs it offers to local residents.

Brandon Paulin, Mayor of Indian Head was present to discuss the completed boardwalk and announced plans to rejuvenate an adjacent shoreline property.

Mark Steele, of Clarity Coffee House and Oasis Fresh Foods Market, shared plans for the Algonquin Building which will house the grocery.

The party was also given a tour of Steele's newly remodeled Pentagon Suites, which offers short term rentals on five executive style rooms.
