There are community members, such as members of the Wilsons Landing Fire Department, on the North Westside who have experienced loss of their home from our current fires. Our goal is to connect homeowners and find suitable housing for community members who may have lost their homes, and for every person that wishes to stay on the Westside during their rebuild. If you have a room, or space available, items you wish to donate, please contact us by clicking the button below and we will gather your detailed information such as number of rooms, pets allowed, etc. to create a private list to facilitate matches and ease this difficult process for our beloved Westside.

I have long term accommodation for a community member rebuilding.

Today is a sad day as we say... - North Westside Fire Rescue

Today is a sad day as we say goodbye to a fellow firefighter, friend, brother, and mentor. You’ll notice the flags at our halls are at half-mast in honor, respect, and remembrance of Doug Gardiner.

It’s difficult to put into words how much Doug meant to the members of this organization and to this community. He was the very heart of this organization and we’re all going to miss him very much..

NWFR congratulate Ryan from

La Casa Market for winning our firefighter mini fridge raffle. Enjoy Ryan!

AUGUST EVENT RECAP

It was with a heavy heart that we made the decision to cancel The Lovers concert as the first installation of the NWCA Sound Lab Music Series at Killiney Beach Community Hall. For the safety of the band and our guests under the progressing wildfire situation and it’s condition surrounding our area, and after what our community suffered through the White Rock Lake Fire in 2021, we felt this was the best decision for all and your understanding has been appreciated. The band is planning to return again next year and we couldn't be more excited as it would have been one incredible show!

Click Here to listen to The Lovers cover dedicated to our community!

August continued with event cancellations for the NWCA and with communities currently within the North Westside under evacuation orders and alerts due to the McDougall Creek Wildfire 2023, and with heavy consideration and great sadness, the NWCA decided to also cancel and not proceed with the Saturday, August 26, Music in the Park installation of Peace, Love, and Art

We look forward to bringing the music indoors for the upcoming cooler season.

Visit our Website for upcoming events and community concerts!

We thank all the hardworking efforts of NWCA Board Directors, the events committee, the volunteers, the vendors, and the supportive sponsors, who put in countless hours dedicated to the details ensuring our community members have a memorable and enjoyable experience.

Hello neighbours...it's time to put on your nice shoes, grab a 'friend, lover, or even your mother' lol, and get ready for something new: Introducing our Prohibition Night at the NWCA's Sound LAB at Killiney Beach. It's a 'dress up' (no jeans, no t's and no shorts) Martini kind of affair. Tickets are $20 each or reserve a table of 8 for $150.

Award Winning vocalist Anna Jacyszyn is pure pizzazz when she sings a song she loves.

BUY TICKETS HERE!

Along with her guitarist, Loni Moger; a musical craftsman creating ambience to thoroughly enjoy and rhythm-sharp Double Bass player, Stefan Bienz – Both with musicality, creativity, and positive energy that creates a superb live interaction and Canada's top drummer Scott Gamble - this is what makes the Anna J Quartet thrive! Anna is an original Kelowna girl who wanted to sing jazz and travel the world, so she based herself in London England and lived that dream by performing at venues around the world from Brazil to Oman, France, Italy, Germany, Canada, Japan, Korea & China. Touring larger and more intimate venues, having international residences, and honing her jazz chops that inspire audiences with positive energy, vocal sensibility, and a melodic understanding of story-telling lyrics.

Thank you to our local sponsors for keeping music alive on the Westside!

We are looking to host our first annual North Westside Chili Cook Off at the September 23 Hippie Market at Killiney Beach Community Hall. Our goal is to have six competition chili's for the community to blind taste test voting for their favourite while they browse local goods at our Fall Hippie Market.

We are looking for 6 to 8 teams / competitors. Competitors can be an individual, a restaurant, or a local group. There is no restriction or registration fee for competitors. We ask that competitors provide a chili / team name for the NWCA to advertise and promote. On September 23, the date of the cook off, the team must provide 2 crock pots of chili 30 minutes prior to the event start. A team member will be needed to serve for the event duration.

If you would like to participate as a Chef / Team Chili Contender please contact us, register, and secure your limited spot at NWCAOnline.ca today!

We have to find 4 more chefs to compete for the tasting to begin! Click the flyer for more details!
