GREETINGS FROM BCAW
by Hank Posnanski, Jr., BCAW President
What an exciting time of the bowling season!

Our bowling centers have been buzzing with activity throughout the winter season. Adult and youth leagues have been running at full speed. Open play and parties are going strong.

In addition, our BCAW youth competition is in full swing. The High School Bowling Club just finished up another fine season. I was lucky enough to take in the 2023 Wisconsin State High School Bowling Championships (and concurrent Storm Scholarship Doubles) at Dale’s Weston Lanes in Weston. Dale was a great host as always. The following Saturday I was at the All-Star Team Challenge at Riviera Lanes in Green Bay, which featured Wisconsin’s top boys’ and girls’ bowlers in fill ratio.

Wow! Those were two incredible consecutive weekends of Wisconsin’s finest student-athletes showing off their skills on the lanes.

As we all turn the calendar page from winter to spring, we’re all looking forward to warmer weather and more great youth bowling. The Middle School Bowling Club season and Pepsi USBC Tournament are both in full swing. The Pepsi Regionals are being contested March 25-26 and April 1-2 with the state tournament on May 13 at Buzz Social in Green Bay. The Middle School State Championships will be held May 6 at The Ashwaubenon Bowling Alley in Green Bay.

It’s amazing to see the future of our great sport!

Now is the time to promote spring and summer center activities
As we enter the spring months, let’s keep our strong winter business rolling. It’s the time of year to promote spring/summer bowling, outdoor sports (i.e. volleyball, horseshoes, cornhole/bags) and other center activities as we’re still busy. Let’s piggyback on this business to get out the word about what exciting things will be happening at your center in future months.

Log into your BPAA.com account and click on the “Proprietor Resource Center” tab for helpful materials.

Remember to utilize your BPAA Smart Buy member benefits, which allow our member centers to take advantage of national pricing and great discounts.

Let’s get on a good roll and enjoy a profitable home stretch of the bowling season and beyond!
