Fall Clean-Up & Outdoor Projects!

YOU can help us make sure all of our VIS Friends get their leaves raked and outdoor projects completed before the snow flies!! If you are able to assist with any of the service opportunities below, please contact VIS at 616.459.7500 or email Cori at cscholtens@visgr.org.

NE Grand Rapids

• Norma (78 yrs old) needs her her flower beds cleaned out, perennials cut, and the leaves raked along the fence line. Please bring rakes and clippers. She will have yard waste bags. (5 Mile Rd NE & E Beltline Ave NE)
• Merlinda (71 yrs old) needs her apple tree pruned and some grass removed in the corner of the yard. (Pine Island Dr NE & I-131)
• Mary (86 yrs old) needs help cutting some branches off her fence and pulling weeds from her retaining wall and along the fence. (Knapp St NE & Fuller Ave NE)

NW Grand Rapids

• Joseph (67 yrs old) needs someone to rake and/or blow the leaves from his yard into the woods in the back. The front leaves will need to be blown onto tarps and pulled to the back. Bring your own rakes, tarps, and blowers.(Lake Michigan Dr NW & Collindale Ave NW)
• Ann (65 yrs old) needs her leaves blown to the back of her property and the canopy over her deck taken down for the winter. She has 2 leaf blowers. (Richmond St NW & Oakleigh Ave NW)

SE Grand Rapids & Kentwood

• Janice (77 yrs old) needs her leaves raked and blown onto a tarp and drug into the woods. Bring rakes, blowers and tarps. 4-5 people can do it 1.5 hours. (32nd St SE & Kalamazoo Ave SE)
• Kathy (72 yrs old) needs her leaves raked. Most leaves are in the backyard and along the fence. She will provide yard waste bags. 4 adults could do it in a couple hours or less. (60th St SE & Eastern Ave SE)
• Bob (74 yrs old) needs his leaves raked and put into leaf bags. (60th St SE & Division Ave S)
• Bernadette (66 yrs old) needs her leaves raked and bagged and then taken to the City of Kentwood Leaf Drop-off. (52nd St SE & Kalamazoo Ave SE)

SW Grand Rapids, Wyoming, & Byron Center

• Cindi (70 yrs old) would like someone to clean out her gutters once the leaves are down. She lives in a single story home with daylight windows in the back. She has an extension ladder. (44th St SW & Byron Center Ave SW)
• Cindy (63 yrs old) needs help raking the leaves in the front and back yards. (Burton St SW & Clyde Park Ave SW)
• Ann (54 yrs old) needs her leaves raked. She usually mulches them with her mower but the mower won't start. She does not have money for leaf bags nor a way to dispose of the bags once full. (Byron Center- 84th St SW & Byron Center Ave SW)
