Soup, Salad, and "The Chosen"

The Adult Education and Spirituality Committee invites you to Soup, Salad, and "The Chosen" TONIGHT March 15th and 22nd (Wednesdays) from 6PM-8PM. While fully engaged in the Lenten disciplines of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving, we will share a very simple meal and view selections from the inspirational TV series “The Chosen” to see how our discipleship and appreciation for the mystery of God-in-Jesus might be enhanced. A sign-up sheet is posted in the narthex.

A Word From Our Rector

Dear All Saints Family,

I recall the old adage, "Confession is good for the soul," and the Lenten season is ripe for such actions, so I'm making a confession to you now.

I have several Safe Church modules yet to complete.......Lord have mercy....

I understand that I'm not alone in this not-so-great-claim-to-fame, so I wonder if any others with this plight might be interested in seeing if we can get these rascals under our belts by the end of Lent or Holy Week? The latter date gives us a little over three weeks.....

I'm shooting to have mine completed by the end of Holy Week at the latest, & will report my progress to you. Feel free to join me in this, and if you dare acknowledge you're in this same "boat," perhaps we can celebrate together when we get this done.

I welcome hearing from any who would be interested in reading parts of the Passion Gospel for our Good Friday service this year, with thanks in advance for any responses. I commend the Wednesday noon Lenten services and lunches at the OBX Presbyterian Church--which are sponsored by our local ministerial alliance--and "The Chosen" discussions with soup & salad each Wednesday evening here in our sanctuary. Thank you Wayne and our Adult Ed/Spirituality leaders for the latter! What a blessing is the series and you all!

Abundant blessings to all in this holy season,

Love, Rev. Cindy

Beach Food Pantry

Happy Spring Everyone! Summer will be here before we blink!

As we look forward to longer, brighter days we need to remember those who are still having a difficult time recovering from job loss, illness, lack of the necessities we take for granted daily. Volunteers are needed to staff the Beach Food Pantry on Thursday, April 13, and Friday, April 14th from 1:45-4p. Donations, monetary or food items, are needed and appreciated. Please leave food items in the Narthex to be picked up for delivery. If you would like to volunteer, please contact Sue Lynch, Volunteer Coordinator at 252-715-3300 or

Why Safe Church Online Training Matters

When the Episcopal Church presented All Saints with a set of Model Policies last summer, one of our first assignments was to go through a security screening. Many have completed that screening. The

second assignment for all Episcopal Churches involved completing the safe church online training. Completion of the training, like the screening, is required for all who are helping in the ministry of our

church. The training is critical for creating a safe and holy church community. Some parishioners have completed all the training; some have begun the process, and a few have not started the training. It’s

critical, if you hold any position in the church, to complete the training as soon as possible or you may be suspended from those ministries for which you were screened.
