Many faculty say academic freedom is deteriorating

In an Inside Higher Ed/Hanover Research survey conducted shortly before the election, over 90 percent of faculty strongly or somewhat agreed that academic freedom is under threat. Nearly 60 percent of the roughly 1,100 respondents to an Inside Higher Ed/Hanover Research survey strongly agreed that academic freedom in higher education is under threat.

New Jersey initiative brings back over 8,600 stopped-out students

Eighteen colleges will receive $1.6 million in grants to help stopped-out students cover things like unexpected expenses and application fees, the office said. Colleges will also be able to use the funds to create digital resources, specialized advising and in-person events for students.
