The Chamber Board of Directors continues to meet in person and by Zoom meetings. Our next Board of Directors Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday September 19,2023, beginning at 8:00 a.m.in the the Town of Renfrew Upstairs Boardroom. Members are always welcomed to attend.

Events and Seminars

The Chamber office is currently assembling welcome packages for the new residents to the area, and it would be great to be able to help promote our members local businesses. It would be awesome if you could either drop off / or I could pick up any business material such as business cards, pamphlets, coupons, pens, calendars or discount coupons etc., that you would like to have included in the packages. Please reach out to the Chamber office for more information. A sample of last years welcome package is attached.

The Community Showcase Evening event is scheduled for Wednesday September 20th at the Renfrew Legion Branch 148. 

Skills in Action - Free training

and Funding available

Renfrew County Community Futures is partnering with the Restigouche CBDC for the new SKILLS IN ACTION project and we invite your business to participate!

The mission of the Skills in Action project is to help solve the labor shortage in Canada, by increasing every day and workplace skills for rural Canadians. The project offers a series of free online training courses based on the new Skills for Success model. The training portal is an on-demand suite where you would have access to the following trainings: 

• Getting Ready
• Reading 
• Numeracy
• Digital Skills
• Problem-solving (Coming soon!)
• Social-Emotional Coming Soon!)

It pays to upskill!

As reimbursement for your business time and expenses, you could receive financial compensation based on the number of employees provided to participate in the online training. The financial compensations are as follows:

• $2,000 for more than 10 employees 
• $1,000 for 5 to 10 employees
• $750 for 5 or fewer employees

Your business will also receive an additional $500 per employee for participating in the online training.

Example: Business with 6 participating employees: $1,000 + $500 (x6 employees) = $4,000.
