The Vermont Office of Racial Equity (ORE) and the Vermont Human Rights Commission (HRC) are conducting a 28-day email series to help people delve into Black History Month. Every day this month, they are sharing events, quotes, resources, facts, and activities that spotlight the greatness of the Black community. They are also holding a raffle for books, tickets, and locally roasted coffee. Anyone who signs up for the series is eligible.

A recent decision by the Washington County Superior Court confirmed VLCT's long-held opinion that selectboards may regulate the running at large of domestic animals as a nuisance. VLCT’s Federal Funding Assistance Program developed a summary of Inflation Reduction Act tax credits and deductions to help municipalities understand these cost reduction tools and determine whether they add value to a project’s financing stack. 


The Vermont Supreme Court recently ruled on whether a municipal governance charter provision allowing noncitizens to vote in local elections violates the Vermont Constitution. The case was brought by a group of citizens questioning the legality of Montpelier's 2018 charter provision, which was adopted by the municipal voters and approved by the legislature.

This article from ICMA discusses what digital equity means for public engagement, especially among historically marginalized communities.
