Parker Health Group Division of Geriatrics Established within Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School

NJAAW congratulates our long-time partner, Parker Health Group, for their generous donation of $18.8 million to the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. This gift will establish the Parker Health Group Division of Geriatrics within the medical school, to focus on enhancing care for seniors through applied research, education, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
NJAAW applauds this proactive approach to addressing the challenges and shortages NJ faces within the field of aging services, as well as increasing access to care and improving the lives of older adult.

Affordable, reliable transportation systems and well-designed streets can improve safety, increase access to community hubs, shops, and services, and reduce isolation for residents.
Registrants will gain a working knowledge of funding and governance structures and be encouraged to work on their own campaigns to improve the transportation systems in their communities.

Parks and Open Space Access for All Ages

Improving access to open spaces for individuals of all ages increases engagement and connection to nature, which is beneficial for mental and physical health. Designing parks to be age-friendly - by adding places to rest, ramps near stairs, programming, and so forth - can also increase community ties and reduce isolation for residents.
