· Contagious disease
The child has a contagious disease like chickenpox, the flu, COVID-19, pinkeye, strep throat, a cold, measles, or whooping cough.
· Eye infection
The child has red eyes, eye discharge that is not clear, or their eyes can't be easily opened.
· Cough
The child has a moderate to severe frequent cough, or is experiencing coughing fits.
· Sore throat
The child has a severe sore throat, has been exposed to strep, or has swollen lymph nodes. Pain with swallowing or pus on tonsils are also good indicators to stay home.
