CVRPC Seeks Planning Technicians

We're looking for two seasonal planning technicians ($18/HR) to assist us primarily with field work data collection. These positions will play an active role in our transportation field work program. Opportunity to work on and support regional, local energy, natural resource, and local hazard mitigation plans as they present themselves.

It’s Local Emergency Management Plan Season

LEMPS are due between now and May 1st. A LEMP helps your town prepare for emergencies and qualifies your municipality for more funding through the Emergency Relief and Assistance Fund (ERAF). Municipalities can submit their LEMP to CVRPC as last year (email Keith Cubbon – cubbon@cvregion.com), but municipalities also have the option of submitting online through WebEOC. More information on LEMPS, WebEOC, and template documents can be found at https://vem.vermont.gov/plans/lemp  


Act 174 Energy Planning Map Products Updated and Available

VCGI is pleased to announce the availability of updated Act 174 energy planning map products. 2016’s Act 174 (S.260) (As Enacted PDF | Summary PDF) seeks to improve planning for energy and land use, enabling Vermont municipalities and regional planning commissions to engage in energy planning with results that have greater weight as brought before the Public Service Board.

Northfield Community Members Invited to Share Ideas for the Future March 21

On Tuesday, March 21, all members of the Northfield Community are invited to come together for a free community dinner and the opportunity to be an active participant in developing new ideas for Northfield’s future. This event is the first step of the Northfield: Our Common Future process - a three-part series of facilitated discussions coordinated by the Vermont Council on Rural Development (VCRD) to brainstorm ideas for the future, identify top priorities for Northfield, and connect to key resources. All community members are invited including residents from all Villages and Norwich University.

Request for Proposals - Brownfields Corrective Action Plan (CAP) and Waste Characterization

The Central Vermont Regional Planning Commission (CVRPC) is requesting proposals from Qualified Environmental Professionals (QEPs) to conduct a Corrective Action Plan and Waste Characterization for 18 South Main Street, Barre City, Vermont. Deadline for questions in writing is March 22. Responses will be posted to this website by March 24, 2023.  Proposals due by noon on April 3, 2023. Proposals must be clearly marked “Corrective Action Plan: South Main Street, Barre City” and submitted via email to Clare Rock, Senior Planner at rock@cvregion.com.
