Dear Pope STEM Academy families,

I’m Mike Weeks, father of Mateo, a graduating senior from the Academy, and president of the Pope STEM Academy Foundation. It was great seeing and meeting many of you last week at the open house. I know many of you couldn’t make it so I wanted to reach out to you and tell you what you missed.

Below you will find links to download the Powepoint presentations given by Mr. Moran,
the STEM teachers, two of our STEM seniors and myself. You will also find a one-page summary of STEM Foundation information—what we we are all about and what we accomplished last year.

I am also writing to request your support to help us achieve the Foundation’s goal of helping make our STEM Academy an even greater experience for all of our children
this year. Each of you can help in two ways:

Volunteering – you can let us know by emailing popestem1@gmail.com if you’d like
to offer your time as a parent volunteer and/or a Board member.

Dues – We ask that each family remit $100 per child in the Academy. As I hope you will see in the attached materials, we offer a lot to our kids but cannot do it without funds
and lots of individual effort. We ask that dues are paid by August 30th, so that we can adequately plan our year, knowing what resources we will have. (If your employer has a matching gifts program, please contact them to see how to double your impact!) You can pay your dues by check, PayPal or Venmo.

Lastly, we’d like you to save the date for your child to attend our ICE CREAM SOCIAL immediately after X-Block on Wednesday, August 30th, on the patio. It will be a great opportunity to meet some of their teachers and fellow classmates in an informal environment. The ice cream will be free for those who have paid their dues and $5 for others. Either way, we’d love for them to come and wear their STEM t-shirts for pictures. (We will have shirts available there for those who haven’t received them
yet or would like to purchase.)

Sorry for the long mail. Hope to see you at school soon. Go Greyhounds and go
STEM Academy!
