The CAC of Suffolk County supports the health and wellbeing of the children and families of Boston, Chelsea, Revere, and Winthrop. Each month we'll share highlights and updates to help you better understand how you are part of the healing and justice we see every day. 

With the school year approaching, it's the perfect time to engage in child safety training. The CAC offers several trainings that are great for educators, students, and caregivers including:

The Step Up & Speak Out Benefit, (October 12, 2023) is an inspiring event that celebrates the strength of survivors and raises critical funds to support the CAC's free services for children who have been sexually abused and exploited.

There are many ways to get involved:

• Opportunities range from $25,000-$1,000.

• Vacation homes, exclusive dining and entertainment experiences, etc.

Recent Highlight

The CAC joined our police partners in celebrating National Night Out events in Chelsea, Revere, and Roxbury. National Night Out is a nationwide community building initiative that seeks to enhance the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement and bring back a true sense of community. With family-friendly activities, music, free food, and resources from helpful organizations like the CAC, the events provide a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances. 

Staff Spotlight

Marcela Familiar-Bolaños, MSW, LCSW is one of the CAC's bilingual and bicultural Mental Health Clinicians. Originally from Mexico, Marcela is passionate about advocating and providing trauma-informed bilingual clinical support to children and families from all backgrounds and cultures. Marcela provides Problematic Sexual Behavior-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (PSB-CBT) as well mental health consultation to families and multidisciplinary teams (MDT) to connect them to helpful resources and supports within the community.
