Happy October!

This has been an exciting month at Habitat CFC with Home Dedication Ceremonies, Homeownership Information Session, Youth United 20th Anniversary Celebration and so much more! We celebrated National Hispanic Heritage Month with our Annual CEO Series featuring Dr. Elizabeth Rivera- Rodriguez, DNP, MSN, MPH, RN, Director of Health and Social Services for the City of Bridgeport, CT. She presented a powerful message about how substandard housing adversely affects the health of our residents. We are blessed to have the opportunity at Habitat CFC to offer brand new affordable homes with an affordable mortgage to low-income working families in Fairfield County. We partner with families to lower barriers to affordable homeownership. Research indicates that some of the benefits of homeownership includes improved health outcomes and reduced health care cost. Affordable homeownership also results in economic stability. Habitat homeowners have the opportunity to create generational wealth. We advocate for financial resources and public policy to make homeownership more accessible and affordable for low-income families.

Thank you for investing your time, talent, and treasure in the work that we do!

At Habitat CFC, we put God’s love into action by bringing people together to build homes, communities, and hope.

Blessings!

There's no place like home! You can help us build it!

It’s a long road to homeownership! Habitat is working on finding funding for the Santos home while the construction team and volunteers are starting to build it. The Bauer Foundation has offered a dollar-for-dollar match for donations up to $100,000 towards the home.

This is where YOU come in. To make the dream of homeownership a reality for the Santos family we need your help to reach our $200,000 goal!

Your gift of any amount will help. Please donate before the end of the year so your gift can be matched dollar-for-dollar.

We are making great progress on our Greenfield Street Build Site in the Town of Fairfield!

We are wrapping up siding and exterior trim on our Greenfield Street build site in the Town of Fairfield. The plumber, HVAC team, and electrician are also finishing their rough-in work. Once these steps are complete, we'll proceed with rough-in inspections before beginning insulation. In the coming weeks, we’ll start building the porches, bringing us even closer to completing these four homes!

Thank you to everyone that joined our Youth United 20th Anniversary Celebration!

It was inspiring to see current and past Youth United members come together at our warehouse to celebrate 20 years of commitment to the Habitat CFC mission! Since 2004, this incredible group has sponsored eight Habitat homes. Thank you for your dedication and ongoing support!

Habitat CFC Partners with the City of Bridgeport to Offer Down Payment Assistance for Future Homeowners

Habitat for Humanity of Coastal Fairfield County (Habitat CFC) is thrilled to announce a new partnership with the City of Bridgeport to provide much-needed down payment assistance to future homeowners. As part of this exciting collaboration, eligible homeowners may qualify for up to $25,000 in down payment assistance, helping them achieve their dream of owning a home.

This initiative is a significant step forward in supporting affordable homeownership in the community. The assistance will make homeownership more accessible to families, ensuring they have the financial support needed to secure a place to call home.

Currently, Habitat CFC has seven home dedications scheduled between now and the end of the year. We are working diligently to submit loan packages for each future homeowner to Building Neighborhoods Together (BNT), who will process the applications and forward all completed packages to the City of Bridgeport for final review and approval.

At Habitat CFC, we are committed to making the dream of homeownership a reality for families across Fairfield County. This partnership with the City of Bridgeport is an important milestone, and we are proud to work together to strengthen the community and create long-lasting opportunities for economic empowerment.

Stay tuned for more updates as we work to complete these dedications and celebrate the families who will soon become homeowners!
