February 2023

The Idaho Transportation Department has finalized design plans for the I-84, Karcher Interchange in Nampa. Construction is expected to begin Fall 2023.

Improvements to the interchange will address congestion and increase safety for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians.

The finalized plans include:

  • A free running right turn lane at the westbound off-ramp
  • A 3rd westbound lane on Karcher Road from the westbound off-ramp to Sundance Road
  • Repaving Karcher Road between the westbound off-ramp and Middleton Road

The traffic separator on Karcher Road near Sundance Road will be extended to Cassia Street to address safety concerns with widening Karcher Road. Left hand turns along this stretch of Karcher will be restricted.
