School starts at 7:45. Students are tardy after 7:45 a.m. Preschool students must be signed in and out by parents. After-school care students must be signed out by parents.

Dismissal Time

3:05 PM for Preschool, Kindergarten, 1st Grade, and Bus Riders.

3:07 PM for 2nd Grade through 8th Grade

3:10 After School Care and Walkers

Early Dismissal

1:20 PM Bell- 1nd-4th grades and siblings dismissed

1:25 PM Bell- 5th-8th grades dismissed

Drop-off Procedures

1. Enter from West High Street (between the school and the small state parking lot)

2. Students in grades 1-8 should use Drop-off line. Pre-K and K students may be walked to the front entrance doors. We recommend working toward dropping K off as the year progresses.

3. The first car should pull up to and stop before the yellow crosswalk and/or the STOP sign.

4. Students MUST exit the vehicle from the passenger side once stopped in the drop-off zone (see diagram).

Parking/Crosswalk Procedures

1. To reduce line congestion, typically, only parents with Pre-K or K students should park and cross students. (Must be walked to crosswalk.) Students with cumbersome items or special circumstances may also use the parking area and be walked across.

2. NO PARKING in the first row of spaces (see diagram).

3. NO PARKING in spaces, even with or beyond the crosswalk.

4. NO PARKING along the fence bordering the wooded area.

5. Park facing OUT of the parking space.

6. Students should NOT be dropped off between parking rows (see diagram).

7. EVERYONE must use the crosswalk when crossing the drop-off line; and need to wait to be crossed by the Safety Patrol or adult on duty.

8. DO NOT drop students off between the rows of parking spaces in the “Non drop-off area” (see diagram).

9. 2 lines should be used to exit the lot.

Pick-up Procedures

1. ALL cars entering the lot, parking & pick-up, need to have a St. Peter hang tag with the student last name. If you need to purchase extra tags for other pick-up vehicles please contact the office.

2. Enter from West High Street (between the school and small state parking lot)

3. Gates open at 2:55 p.m. for parking.

4. Parking begins in spaces nearest school past the crosswalk, filling in the furthest spaces of the double row progressing toward the entrance. Once the first row is filled, cars can begin filling in the second double row of parking spaces, then finally the row that borders Main St. (we recommend backing into these spaces)

5. At 3:07 p.m., the pick-up line is opened, and cars can begin lining up. Pick-up line cars need to stay as far left as possible so cars wishing to park can still enter the lot. Please do not start the pick-up line until indicated to do so at 3:07 by the staff on duty.

6. Students will be called to the 1st 6-10 cars by last name. Once loading is complete, they will be released, and the process repeated until all students are picked up.

School Lunch

School lunch is pre-paid through your FACTS Parent Portal. School lunch charges are as follows: Lunch is 2.75 per student. A la carte charges: extra main entree is 2.00, extra side is 1.50, and milk is .50. You will get an email from St. Peter/FACTS when your lunch balance is $10 or below, you will need to add funds to your pre-paid account at this time.  You may add funds at any time. The free & reduced lunch application is attached HERE. Please fill out the form if you think you may qualify. We receive federal money toward professional development for teachers and title services for our students based on the number of children who qualify for free and reduced meals. Preschool lunch is included in the cost of preschool student tuition. If you have any questions regarding lunch billing, you may email [email protected]. There will be a Wellness Committee meeting Thursday, August 17 at 3:30 in the school cafeteria. All are welcome to attend.

Attendance

It is essential that St. Peter be notified of all student absences. If your child will be absent/needs to leave early, a note, email, or phone call should be made to the school office (573-636-8922). Parents can email [email protected] with absences and homework requests. The office will notify the teachers as necessary. It is most helpful to notify the office before 8:30 a.m. before official attendance is complete. If you are planning a vacation and your child will miss three or more days of school, please fill out a Vacation Request Form from the office. This is to be completed two weeks prior so that teachers can make assignments available for the absence.

Medicine

If your child requires medicine to be given at school, you must fill out a permission to administer form with dosage information. Medicine forms are sent home at Open House and should only be returned if/when your student needs medicine that the parent provides either over-the-counter or prescription medicine. The school does not provide medicine. Contact our school nurses with any questions or concerns at [email protected].

Health Records

Under Missouri law, student health records must be up to date in order to attend school. Please note the Diocese of Jefferson City no longer accepts religious exemption as a reason not to receive required vaccinations. The school nurse keeps records of student immunizations and is required by law to report to the state of Missouri the names of students whose immunizations are deficient. If student records are deficient, a reminder is sent to the parents. Parents may be asked to keep students out of school until required immunizations are received.

VIRTUS

All parents in PK-8th grade must have VIRTUS and complete the background check for their children to attend St. Peter Catholic School. As always, please stay up to date with your VIRTUS training. This is required for all parents/guardians that have students PK-8 in schools in our Diocese. Some things do expire and/or need to be updated, so it is good to log into your account regularly.   To complete VIRTUS go to virtusonline.org

Meet Our Staff

Hello, I'm very excited to start my 11th year as principal at St. Peter Catholic School.  This is my 21st year as a principal and 27th year in education.  I received my Bachelor of Science in Education with a minor in Special Education from Lincoln University. I have a Reading Recovery Certificate from Southeast Missouri State University and my Masters and Educational Specialist Degree in Elementary Administration from William Woods University. I plan to graduate this year with my Doctoral Degree from William Woods University in Educational Leadership. My husband Matt and I have seven children. We have six daughters and one son. Our oldest two daughters are nurses, with our third daughter in college studying nursing. My son recently graduated college with a degree in Electrical Distribution and is an apprentice lineman. Our fourth and fifth daughters are at Helias. Our youngest daughter is in 6th grade at St. Peter.  I enjoy reading, spending time with my children and grandchildren, and traveling with my family.

I love St. Peter Catholic School and look forward to meeting all the new families this year!
