Poor People's Campaign Moral March on Washington and To The Polls
When: June 18, 2022, 9AM Gather, 10AM Start
Where: The Capitol Reflecting Pool, Washington, DC
PSR PA and the White Coat & Scrubs Contingent of the Poor People’s Campaign in Washington DC invites you to join with a nationwide contingent of fellow health professionals from across the country in a major national peaceful event advocating for social justice, The Poor People’s and Low Wage Workers Assembly and Moral March on Saturday, June 18 in Washington, DC.
There can never be health equity – can never be health justice – without social justice. America must have a moral revolution now. It is time to nonviolently disrupt, protest, shake up and alter the direction of our nation towards love, truth, justice and equal protection under the law.
The Health Professionals meet-up is at 9:45 AM on the steps of the Capitol Reflecting Pool (toward the left side of the Pool if you stand facing the Capitol building, the North side), near the corner of 3rd St SW and Pennsylvania Avenue. See here for a mapped location.
The Rally and March start very nearby, at Pennsylvania Avenue and 3rd Street Southwest. In addition to wearing a “white coat and/or scrubs,” bring signs or banners if you can.

Tell Congress to Divest from War
This week, key Congressional committees are beginning to deliberate on President Biden’s budget recommendations for 2023. It’s a critical moment for your voice to be heard.
We must demand significant Pentagon budget cuts in order to address the most pressing issues facing our country, including climate change, access to health care, infrastructure, education, and more. Experts at the Congressional Budget Office have determined that the Pentagon budget could be cut by $1 trillion dollars over the next decade without impacting our military readiness.
Our communities are starved for investment as the military budget increases without scrutiny.
Join us in demanding a $100 billion dollar cut to Biden’s egregious topline request and a reinvestment in community needs.
See more talking points and a template to write to your representative here.

CeaseFirePA and its community partners, have secured major investments to gun violence prevention efforts directly in our communities. To date, Governor Wolf and legislative partners have invested $45 million toward this effort. The goal is to reach a $100 million investment by the end of 2024.
Learn more of CeaseFirePA's work here.
These important, small down payments are dwarfed by the size of this public health crisis. The suffering of loss is unimaginable.
CeaseFirePA is calling for $300 million five year investment in community based violence reduction across the Commonwealth.
Elected officials must listen to communities who know their needs. Together, we can make the investment happen.

S.A.F.E. EPA Protest
When: September 20, 2022, 9:00 AM EDT
Where:U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Headquarters
1200 Pennsylvania Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC 20004
Join “Scientists, Activists, and Families for cancer-free Environments” (S.A.F.E.) to protest the Superfund Sites that are not cleaned up and are exposing children to toxic and radioactive contamination.
There are over 1,300 environmental emergency (Superfund) sites in America that are exposing children to toxic and radioactive contamination. The EPA has neglected, delayed, or implemented insufficient cleanups in order to protect the polluters, instead of protecting people. That's why we're protesting with communities across the U.S. to demand the proper cleanups of EPA sites in order to protect our children from cancer!
