Prayers for the Sick and Recently Deceased

Let us pray for

—the sick, especially Randy Creaser, Jonnie Irwin, Kennedy Cobble, Debbie Fairchild Harding, Vic Harding, Dr. Robert Ryan, Earle Silvers, Colleen House, Mary & Carl Milewski, Therese Fergo, Maria Gianino, Yolanda Mendez Acevedo, Anne Rader, Robyn Nishimi, Paul Gruber, and Blanca Rose Juarez, and

—the recently deceased, including Carolyn Zolbe.

To add a name to the prayer list for the sick or the recently deceased, email Msgr. Jameson. If you are asking for prayers for a person who is sick, please first get their permission.

Christmas Offering

During Advent and Christmas we reflect upon the many blessings of the Lord, including those graces experienced at St. Matthew’s. Sacrificial giving is about giving back to God what he has given to us. It’s not the size of the gift that’s important, but rather giving of our substance—giving back in proportion to what we have received, giving even when it’s not easy to give. You may place your Christmas offering in the collection baskets, use one of the online donation options below, or mail your donation to the rectory office. Thank you for your critically needed support.

Parish Notes

Adopt-a-Family Thank you

Grace met need once again in our Adopt-a-Family Christmas Drive. Your donations allowed us to provide gift cards totaling $11,000 to 70 parish and local families and individuals, 45 children of the Homeless Children’s Playtime Project, and 14 residents of the L’Arche Greater Washington community, for their purchase of Christmas gifts or to meet urgent needs. Donations continue to come in and will be used to help the families in 2022.

Thank you to all our generous donors, to Pam Quinn for coordinating, to Adria Vargas and Grace Lutfy for the distribution of the gift cards, and to the volunteers who received your donations after Masses. On behalf of the families and the Social Justice Committee, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
