Facade Program in Full Swing!
The application period for the PA Route 6 Facade Program in Lackawanna County is now open!

The four public meetings in Carbondale and Scranton this week were a success. We had dozens of businesses attend the meetings as we answered questions about the program and walked them through the application process. We're excited to help business owners bring their projects to fruition!

If you were unable to attend one of the in-person meetings, a virtual Zoom meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, February 15th at 6:00 PM. You can register for that meeting on our website.

Tuesday, February 14th, is Valentine's Day!

With roots in both Christian and Roman culture, Valentine's Day is now celebrated as a time of romance and appreciation for your significant other. Valentine greetings were popular as far back as the Middle Ages, though written Valentines didn’t begin to appear until after 1400. The oldest known valentine still in existence today was a poem written in 1415 by Charles, Duke of Orleans, to his wife while he was imprisoned following his capture at the Battle of Agincourt. Roses became associated with romance sometime during the 18th century, and today approximately 250 million roses are produced for Valentine's Day each year.

Looking for a unique way to spend this Valentine's Day?

Check out the "Valentine's Day Cast Iron Cooking" program. Enjoy a cast iron meal for two cooked in an open fireplace at the Rotary Pavilion at Presque Isle State Park on February 14th from 6:00-7:30PM. Cost is only $15 per couple.
