The Tapestry Program - New Beginnings at St. Brigid of Kildare

Our lives are a constant series of endings and beginnings. Some of these endings come suddenly or unexpectedly. Others are planned and come more gradually. But each ending gives us the opportunity for a new beginning.

St. Brigid of Kildare is experiencing a time of new beginnings as we welcome Fr. Black as the third pastor in the history of our parish. We have seen over 150 new families join our parish in the last year. We have added new staff, new programs, and new opportunities. The Tapestry Program has always represented a time of new beginnings. Parishioners have the opportunity to explore their relationship with St. Brigid of Kildare and decide how they are going to become a part of the parish community by donating their time, talent and treasure. There is truly a place for all here at our parish. Please look over the materials that you will receive in the mail the week of September 4th. The mailing contains all the information you will need to get engaged at St. Brigid of Kildare.

Join Us for Welcome Weekend

Join us in Hendricks Hall on September 16th and 17th, after all Masses for Welcome Weekend. This is a time when all parishioners can enjoy food and drinks while browsing the many opportunities and ministries that need your participation. Over 50 ministries and committees will be present for you to explore, and volunteers will be available to answer your questions. There will also be a new parishioner's welcome committee to register for our parish if you would like to join.

Fr. Black will be available to greet parishioners as he begins his ministry here at St. Brigid. We hope you will join us for refreshments and fellowship in Hendricks Hall after every Mass.

Please consider how you can become part of our parish family and join us on the journey of faith.

Updates in Hendricks Hall Made Possible by Generous Gift in Memory of Ruth and Eugene Bulgozdy by their Children

Eugene and Ruth Bulgozdy joined the parish in 1988. As founding members, they became engrained in the fabric of the new parish, actively participating as our parish grew over the last 35 years. They were members of various ministries, always volunteering where they were most needed. After Eugene passed away in 2011, Ruth became more involved with the bereavement lunches, bible studies, adult faith formation, and the 55 plus group, spending much of her time in Hendricks Hall.

After losing their mother in June of 2022, it seemed the perfect tribute for her children to give a donation in memory of their parents to fund the renovation of Hendricks Hall. The center room in the hall that was previously referred to as Room B has been renamed the Bulgozdy Room and is dedicated in memory of Ruth and Eugene Bulgozdy.

The Bulgozdy children attended a Mass and blessing of the new room on June 24, 2023. The Mass was celebrated by Msgr. Joseph Hendricks, assisted by Deacon Frank Iannarino and Deacon Steve Petrill.

St. Brigid of Kildare’s Parish Center (Hendricks Hall) is the center of parish life, hosting hundreds of meetings and events throughout the year. Since its opening in 2007, thousands of people have enjoyed the hall and it has been a place of mourning, meeting, learning, and celebrating. With such constant use, it was time to update Hendricks Hall for the future needs of the parish.

Hendricks Hall is being updated over the summer and this renovation will include a new floor, tables and chairs, fresh paint, a new AV system, and some additional decorative items.

Pictured is the Bulgozdy Family in front of the newly dedicated Bulgozdy room in memory of their parents, founding members Eugene and Ruth Bulgozdy. Pictured L to R: Deacon Frank Iannarino Paul Melcher, Deacon Steve Petrill, Msgr. Together we can discover the story!

We invite you to join us for the Rescue Project, Wednesdays, September 13 - November 16 from 7-8:30 PM in Hendricks Hall.

News from & around the Diocese of Columbus

Food + Education = HOPE : It has been said that one person can make a difference, and we all know that to be true. But, our church is universal, think of what we can accomplish together! As fellow Catholics, we are called. Called to serve one another. Called to help form one another. Called to both local and global opportunities. On September 28th join together with those you know to purchase a table or tickets to an event called: An Evening With.  This year the key-note speaker is the founder and CEO of Mary's Meals, Magnus MacFarlane-Barrow. Mary's Meals is a global hunger organization that provides meals in the classroom leading to a bridge out of poverty. This inspirational evening supports two educational opportunities, locally and worldwide, through Mary's Meals. Proceeds support both Mary’s Meals and tuition assistance. Contact Julie at jnaporano@scprep.org
