Prayer Requests
"Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances for this is God's will for you in Jesus Christ. " 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Pender is a church committed to the power of prayer. Our "prayer chain" is a group of church members constantly in prayer for the needs of our congregation. To make your prayer needs known, you may email the prayer chain by clicking here to send an email to our group of prayer warriors.
Pender has a powerful group of individuals who pray for the needs of the congregation. This group offers prayers of thanksgiving, for strength, for healing power for family and friends and for other issues in your life.

Please contact Iris Salcewicz with any prayer requests you have and if you would like to become a prayer warrior for Pender.

Your joys and concerns will be added to the prayer list.
Dear Church Family:

The past couple weeks have been a whirlwind as I become acclimated to life at Pender UMC. Amid the activity, it has been a great joy to meet with some of you and to hear about your faith stories and your passion for serving Christ and his great mission in the world. I have been inspired and encouraged by your faithfulness expressed in active service in the life of the church and beyond.  My thanks to the SPPRC for suggesting that I meet early on with church leaders, and to JaiVon for scheduling these meetings.

My thanks also to the many of you who have helped to make my transition to Pender easier by providing Nancy and me with gift cards, money, food, and household supplies. As she and I have worked overtime to get the parsonage in shape quickly, it has been a relief not to have to worry about these necessities and a joy to experience the generous heart of PUMC.

One “housekeeping note.” In recent days my phone has notified me that I have received several friend requests on Facebook. Maybe one of those came from you. In truth, I wouldn’t know because, although I do have a Facebook account, I don’t use it. So, if I don’t respond to your request, please know that you are not being singled out; I have no Facebook “friends.” However, I look forward to meeting with you face to face, at the church or in your home, or by phone or at a coffee shop, as you wish. It is my intention to get to know as many in our congregation as possible in the months and years to come as we begin our journey together in discipleship and ministry. With God’s help, we’re off to a good start.

For Christ and his Church,

Pastor Bruce
