2023 Budget
Council received the 2023 draft budget on Nov. 30. It proposes a 4.99 per cent tax increase, with an option to provide an additional two per cent infrastructure levy, for a total increase of 6.99 per cent. The 2023 draft budget is available online at georgina.ca/budget.
Council will deliberate the draft budget on Jan. 24 and 25, 2023. Final approval is scheduled for Jan. 25, 2023.

Winter operations tracker
It's snow joke! The Town's new online winter operations tracker is now live. This will allow residents to see where the snowplows are during snow clearing. Meet the fleet of snowplows YOU named that will keep our streets clear this winter. Thanks for all your creative submissions!

Waste and Recycling calendar
Watch for it! The 2023 Waste and Recycling calendar will be delivered in the Dec. 22 edition of the Georgina Advocate. As of Dec. 22, residents can also pick up a copy of the calendar at the Georgina Public Library (Keswick, Pefferlaw and Sutton branches) or view and download a copy online.

Festival of Lights
Enjoy the lights all season long. Experience the Festival of Lights until Jan. 2, 2023. Travel along the ROC parkway and Civic Centre grounds in your vehicle while experiencing a magical holiday tribute with festive animated lighting set to music that can be enjoyed through your car radio on channel 101.7FM. Happening daily from dusk to 11 p.m.

Winter program registration
Recreation program registration is now open for Georgina residents. Registration for non-residents is on Dec. 13 at 8:30 a.m. Be sure to check out all the available ski and snowboard lessons, swim lessons and recreation programs you can enjoy this winter.

Winter parking restrictions
Winter weather has arrived. That’s a reminder of our shared role in keeping roads and walkways clear. Winter parking restrictions are now in effect until April 15, meaning no parking between the hours of 2 a.m. and 7 a.m.

Holiday closures
Happy holidays from the Town of Georgina. A reminder that the Civic Centre will be closed from Dec. 26, 2022 to Jan. 2, 203 inclusive, with regular service resuming Jan. 3, 2023. The Town has many online self-serve options available at your convenience. Have a safe and happy holiday season.

Georgina Animal Shelter and Adoption Centre
Meet the lovely Lady. This young pup is approximately 11 months old and an energetic hound-mix. Lady adores running around and playing with toys. She is a good girl who is trying her best to remember her manners. However, with the right family and a bit of training, this Lady would make the perfect pup for an active household. Let’s help this sweetheart find her forever family before the holidays!
