Connect to MyHealth Access Network by June 30
As our members know, SB 1337 (the state's new "Managed Care" law) was signed into law by Governor Stitt in 2022. It reads: “Each contracted entity and each participating provider shall submit data through the state-designated entity for health information exchange to ensure effective systems and connectivity to support clinical coordination of care, the exchange of information, and the availability of data to the Authority to manage the state Medicaid program.”

MyHealth Access Network (State-designated entity for health information exchange) has been working with the association for over fourteen years. MyHealth is connecting health information from over six hundred sites across Oklahoma including hospitals, physician offices, community health centers, tribes, optometry, behavioral health, pharmacies, laboratories and other resources. All of this data is securely available to subscriber optometrists on their individual patients by securely logging into the system with unique user names and passwords.

The deadline for applications is June 30, 2023 in order to avoid any penalties. At this time MyHealth has a connection fee of $5,000 for all new connections. We are being told that this fee will not be charged until you actually connect your EHRs to MyHealth. OKSHINE is the state oversite agency in charge of the overall program. They are the agency that will determine if your situation constitutes a hardship extension. At this point in time the state is not allowing for exemptions from the rules. If you do not meet the standards, you will not be able to contract as a provider for SoonerCare.
