A Message from the Superintendent

When I reflected upon everything we experienced as a community over the past three weeks, I was left astounded. Astounded…and grateful…and exhausted… and inspired...and appreciative...and proud...

I was grateful to be on school sites and in classrooms where I witnessed all the amazing activity. I was uplifted by the energy around teaching and learning and by the indescribable efforts of our staff to teach and reach students. I was blown away by our parent volunteers whose support is next-level. I appreciated the amazing interruption that was the World Cup (and I’m not even a soccer fan). While in attendance at many performances and special events my heart felt full, and I was proud of the resilience shown by our entire FVSD community--astounding!

A much needed break for all of us is finally here. In the words of a FVSD second grader on on the last day, “I can’t wait to sleep in.” My hope is that we all get to sleep in at least a few times over the winter break and that we make lots of great memories.

Enjoy a safe and wonderful break!

Sincerely,

Katherine Stopp
