1Book1Diocese for Lent
Beginning to Pray by Anthony Bloom.

For several years, a book has been chosen to study as a Diocesan Community during Lent. Several members of Christ Church have participated on their own previously, but this year we will have a specified time to gather and discuss this year’s selection, Beginning to Pray by Anthony Bloom. Time and place are still being fleshed out, but in the meantime, some copies of the book will be available in the church office, or you can order your own on Amazon. ($11.95 – paperback) – Contact Molly Stevenson with any questions (229) 292-8215 or mollybs64@outlook.com

"Clear and compelling teaching on encountering God in prayer is all too rare in the Church," Bishop Logue said. "I find the stories used to illustrate the points in this book open up so much wisdom. The brief chapters are worthy of reflection. Beginning to Pray had a positive impact on my own prayer life and I am looking forward to the Diocese of Georgia studying it together."

The 1Book1Diocese read for Lent is a classic work, Beginning to Pray by Anthony Bloom. This simple and powerful book, gets at the vital importance of encountering God in prayer.
