Hello organizing clients and friends!
Thank you for your support! I've now worked in 301 homes, billed 3,700+ hours, and am *thrilled* to have 79 five-star Google reviews.

Please reach out if you'd like to schedule a session. I'm booking for mid-April, but if you need an earlier date, I keep a waitlist and will try to fit you in.

Returning clients, please text me at 206-932-2939 or email me.

New clients, please schedule a 20-minute (free) consult call. We can chat about your projects and see if we're a good fit to work together.
Sustainable organizing systems

When you look at clients' 'before and after' photos in these newsletters and on my website, you'll notice that the rooms in the 'after' photos look spacious and peaceful, even as the decor in each home is different.

This is because the client and I start by sorting and decluttering. If we didn't, any organizing systems that we set up would not be sustainable.

Instead, the client and I sort items into categories. We then assign categories to specific homes in intuitively easy-to-find locations. We pare down enough so that the items are neither hidden, stacked precariously, nor jammed into tight spaces. Rather, they are visible and accessible without frustration or fussiness.

We generally store utilitarian items, such as tools and supplies, out of sight in closed storage, such as inside drawers, cupboards, and labeled containers. Consequently, there's plenty of open, visible space left to feature a few beautiful items, like an elegant espresso machine or fruit bowl on a kitchen counter, beloved photos and books arranged on a shelf, or gorgeous handbags and shoes displayed in a closet.

As a result, the organized rooms are not only highly functional, but also look personalized, calm, and spacious.
Two years later!

I took the photos below in February 2023, two years after I helped these clients move into their Seattle house.

In January 2021 the clients were downsizing from a much larger house, so I not only helped them to unpack but also to pare down their belongings. This allowed everything to comfortably fit into their new home and ensured that the organizing systems we set up were sustainable.
As you can see from the photos, the clients have beautifully maintained the organizing systems that we established.

Because there's space for each category of items, and because each category has an assigned home, it's easy for the clients to see what they have, find what they need, and put things away again.

The real key to sustaining organizing systems? The 'one in, one out' rule prevents spaces from becoming overcrowded again: for every new item that comes into a space, at least one other item has to go. Light decluttering is an ongoing task, but also manageable and satisfying.
