Fall Adult Ed with Rabbi Resnick

New Fall Class with Rabbi Resnick (in person)

History and Philosophy of Conservative Judaism

Tuesdays thru December 20, 7:30-9pm

We will continue to explore the historical roots and philosophical underpinnings of Conservative Judaism. At our next class on Tuesday, December 6, we will be joined by Dr. Arnie Eisen, Chancellor Emeritus of the Jewish Theological Seminary.

Please note that there will be no class on December 13. Instead, all are invited to attend the Hartman lecture on that evening. On December 20, the course will conclude with an examination of some contemporary halakhic issues in the movement as well as an overview of the institutional landscape.

There is a $75 suggested donation for this class. Please contact Melainie in the office to register.

Our Lunch and Learn will continue through the end of the Fall on Wednesdays from 12-1 pm. We will be studying the weekly parashah.

Social Action: Volunteers Urgently Needed

The PJC is continuing to help Hearts and Homes for Refugees with the resettlement of two refugee families in New Rochelle.

Volunteers are needed!

If you would like to help or would like more information, please contact

Michael Dvorkin.

PJC Library News

The library is open.

New books can be found on the mantle. To check out a book, find the pocket with a card in the back. Write your name and the date you borrowed the book. Leave the card in one of the blue bins.

Please return all borrowed books to one of the two blue bins provided -- one in the library by the large windowsill, the other on the guest desk in the main office. This will enable the librarians to keep books in circulation and keep track of who is borrowing our books. Do not shelve returned books.

Thank you for your cooperation. -- Barbara & Liz
