Secure Our Data. Secure Our Future.
October is Massachusetts Cybersecurity Month and this year's theme is "Secure Our Data. Secure Our Future." It highlights the importance of safeguarding digital information to protect individuals and communities. During the month, the MassCyberCenter is raising awareness of simple actions that everyone can do to protect themselves and others online. These actions include:
-
Enabling multi-factor Authentication;
-
Using strong passwords and a password manager;
-
Updating your computers and mobile devices regularly; and
-
Learning how to spot and report phishing attempts.
The month highlights broad audiences — educational institutions, businesses, R&D centers, policy leaders, investors and technology groups — that make up the Massachusetts cybersecurity ecosystem. This ecosystem works to establish Massachusetts as a national cybersecurity leader while helping citizens and the state economy thrive in the face of growing threats.
Governor Maura Healey signed an official proclamation to formally announce Massachusetts Cybersecurity Month.
Massachusetts Cybersecurity Month is held concurrently with National Cybersecurity Awareness Month.
