Applications for Military Appreciation Banners and Pavers are due by October 4, 2024.

The City installs Military Appreciation Banners and Pavers in support of local military personnel and their families. The program also helps promote patriotism and pride throughout our community while recognizing men and women who have served in the past or are currently serving.

The cost to purchase a Military Appreciation Banner to be designed and installed on City street light poles is $200. The nominee must currently serve in the US military. Banners will be displayed at selected locations on Frederick Street, Cactus Avenue, and Alessandro Boulevard.

The Veteran’s Military Program Pavers are located around the Memorial at the Civic Center and are inscribed with the names of military veterans and active-duty service personnel and their branches of service. The nominee must currently serve, or have served, in the US military. Similar to the banners, the cost per paver is $200.

Please contact the City’s Parks & Community Services Department at 951.413.3701 or visit moval.org/banners to access more information and the application.

Pet of the Week: Teddy

Our Pet of the Week is Teddy, a three-year-old brindle Mastiff mix.

Teddy was named as such because he is as gentle as a teddy bear. His calm demeanor and gentle, soulful gaze will melt your heart and win you over within seconds of meeting him. He's comfortable on a leash and likes walks almost as much as snuggling up together on the couch.

If you would like to make Teddy or any pet from the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter part of your family, please contact the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter at 951.413.3790 or visit www.moval.org/pets.
