Parent Partnership Night Tomorrow, August 28!

The evening includes:

Jet's Pizza, Chick-fil-A, and Tropical Smoothie Cafe food trucks onsite from 5pm to 6:15pm to purchase dinner before the event
A spirited reception by our very own Marching Band and Cheer team
Opening welcome by SFD Chaplain ad student leaders in the gymnasium at 6:30pm sharp
Meet and greet with your student's teachers as you walk their first semester schedule

Parents will receive a copy of their student's schedule upon arrival.

We look forward to seeing you there!

The spirit shop will be open all evening with new items to show Stallion Pride as well!

During study halls and lunch periods, parents are invited to stop by the cafeteria to learn more about volunteer opportunities at our upcoming Friends in the Courtyard event. Volunteer descriptions can be found here. Sarah Jacobs, Director of Alumni, Events & Family Engagement, will also be in the cafeteria to answer questions.

Stallions in the Spotlight

Junior Adoma Andoh is an SFD Writer's Club member who had a poem that was recently published in the Young Writers book called Hunted - Escaping Words.

Junior Austin Usher attended a STEM/Plebe session at the Naval Academy last weekend, where he competed in four physics/engineering challenges. A perfect score was 490 points; Austin and his partner scored 480 points and took 2nd place overall! Fall ACT Prep Course

To help prepare for the National Test given at SFD on October 15th and other tests offered throughout the year

We are offering a comprehensive ACT prep course to seniors, juniors, and sophomores to help them excel in the topics of English, Math, Reading, Science Reasoning, and

Writing. Please fill out the registration form (link below) and return the form with the payment ($180) by September 5 to Mrs. Garrick in room 114. Class size is limited to 25 students.

The Diagnostic test will be given on Saturday, September 7 at SFD from 7:45am to noon.

ACT Opportunity for Juniors and Seniors at SFD

DeSales will be offering an in-school ACT (without writing) to interested juniors and seniors this fall. Testing will take place on the morning of Tuesday, October 15th. Space is limited. To sign up, please submit the registration form no later than September 24th. The fee for this testing session is $46 and is due prior to test day. The fee can be submitted via cash or check (payable to St. Francis DeSales) to Mrs. Lisa Hoyer in the Student Services Center.

VIP Treatment at Stallion Football Games

Get started with Friends in the Courtyard 2024 before the live event! A few lucky Stallion fans can enjoy Stallion football games from the comfort of the South Press Box in Alumni Stadium for all home games this season, which include; Africentric 9/6, Wheeling Linsley 9/14, St. Charles 9/27, Bishop Hartley 10/4, and Kipp Academy 10/11.

Bidding for all games begins NOW and will close on Wednesdays at 6:00pm the week of each game. Winners will be notified at 6:30pm on Wednesday of game week.

Winners can have up to five (total) guests in the Press Box. Guest list must be provided Thursday before the game for entry at the gate.

SFD Dance Team Kids Camp

Open to all grade school dancers and non-dancers! The SFD Dance Team will teach dance campers warm-ups, stretching exercises, a dance routine by grade level, and the SFD Dance Team Fight Song dance!

When: Saturday, September 28 from 9 a.m.-Noon

Cost: $40; cost includes camp, t-shirt, small snack and admission to the DeSales home football game on October 4 where campers are invited to perform with the SFD Marching Band during pre-game.

Spiritual Reflection

Lord God, your Son walked among us flawed human beings. He loved the poor, the sick, and the widowed. He delighted in little children. He sat at table with men and women who were sinners and called them to new life. Only hypocrisy raised anger in Jesus. Open our eyes and hearts to see ourselves as we are and to cast ourselves upon your mercy rather than to cover our shame with lying to ourselves and to those around us. Amen.
