Rock Hall's annual Fourth of July festivities are here! Below are important details regarding this year's events, as well as information regarding various goings on – both on and off our properties.
The holiday weekend kicks-off tomorrow, July 1 with the Sgt. Preston Ashley American Legion post's Drive-Thru Pit Beef Sale at 11:00 a.m., followed by the Rock Hall Volunteer Fire Company's Drive-Thru Fish Fry lasting from 3:00-6:00 p.m.
Sunday, July 2 is the Kent County Waterman's Association's Waterman's Day. Taking place at Rock Hall Bulkhead, this longstanding community event features boat docking and anchor toss competitions, as well as food, refreshments and vendors of local wares that combined make for an afternoon of festive family fun. Activities begin at around 12:00 noon.
Rock Hall's Third of July fireworks bring light to night sky on Monday at dusk. The Rock Hall Volunteer Fire Company presents fireworks at roughly 9:15 p.m. over Rock Hall Harbor – and the Admirals Club Beachside Bar at Haven Harbour South provides the best viewing in town. Follow us on Facebook for live updates.
Independence Day morning begins at 8:00 a.m. with the 40th Annual Rock Hall Flat Five. This nearly five-mile-long road race is proudly operated (for all 40 years) by Haven Harbour South Dockmaster Denny Herrmann. Following the race's finish, Rock Hall's hometown parade gets going along Main Street at 10:00 a.m. Immediately following the parade, head over to the Civic Center Festival at 11:00 a.m. for games, food, music and more, made possible by Rock Hall Parks & Recreation.
Whatever you do this weekend, and wherever you spend it, we hope that the spirit of the day catches and inspires you. Please contact us at (410) 778-6697 or [email protected] with questions regarding this year's events.
