Zhou Y, Zaitchik B, Kumar SV, Nie W, Loomis BD, Richey McLarty AS, Appana R. Journal of Hydrology, Sept. 1, 2024
Our results show that representing irrigation has a significant impact on the simulation of hydrological terms in this intensively managed region. Overall, RETRO agrees more closely with GLEAM_A and GLEAM_B ET while IRRI agrees better with ALEXI ET. Including irrigation was shown to reduce the RMSE of ET as compared to ALEXI and SSEBop for most of the area. Irrigation also alters the seasonality of ET, leading to closer agreement with ALEXI ET, especially for the Northern India, Upper Indus, and Uttar Pradesh regions.

Reorienting Health Systems Towards Primary Health Care in South Asia
Pereraa S, Ramanib S, Joarderd T, Shuklae R, Zaidif S, Wellappulig N, Ahmedh SM, Neupanef D, Prinjai S, Amatyaj A, Rao K. The Lancet Regional Health, Sept. 2024
The wide canvas of PHC necessitates prioritizing issues for action. The action points that we have arrived at in this paper have been chosen through careful deliberations within the author-group, as well as in consultation with other global and regional experts in PHC. However, we do acknowledge that there is a diversity of opinion and evidence on how best to reorient health systems towards PHC. We do not intend the action points we have proposed in this paper to be one-size-fits-all solutions, but we call for countries to engage with these action points and adapt them to country-specific needs.
