Eastvale 2040
Did you know that the state requires each city and county in California to adopt a comprehensive, long-term General Plan? The most recent update to our General Plan is called “Eastvale 2040.”
The Eastvale 2040 update brought the community together to reexamine and update our long-term vision and values, winning two awards from the American Planning Association for its purposeful and effective community engagement. A chapter of the General Plan is the Housing Element and we’re proud to share that our Housing Element plan is one of the only 20 certified plans in the 197-jurisdiction Southern California Association of Government (SCAG) region covering the counties of Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, Riverside, Ventura, and Imperial.
To ensure that Eastvale 2040 is carried out in a way that serves our residents best, our Planning Division hosted 11 opportunities for residents to provide feedback including community workshops, pop-up booths at events, and advisory circle meetings throughout the last few months covering topics such as land use, the Chandler area, circulation, and open space.
Last week was our final Eastvale 2040 Advisory Circle Meeting and Eastvale residents, staff, and UCLA graduate students focusing their efforts on Eastvale gathered to discuss open space and conservation. Points from their discussion will be presented at an upcoming open house event where the entire community will be invited to provide input.
A big thank you to Eastvale’s Planning Division, the community members who have provided feedback, and the UCLA graduate students who joined and observed the conversation!
