MARCH 2025

March is often considered the bridge from Winter to Spring. It carries strong symbolism: new growth and transformation. It's the time when animals awake from hibernation, plants begin growing and people around the world partake in Spring celebrations. It is a time to "restart". Let's take this time to refocus our commitments to help WHYF in our mission. You can help three ways: pray for our effortsshare us with your friends and continue to financially support us.

March is also the month we honor my favorite saint - St. Joseph. Please ask for his prayers for WHYF. Thank you!

Spiritual Advisor's Corner

Father Timothy Sahd

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

I remember when Paul Harvey would have a 2-minute "show" on the radio every day, when he'd say things like, "Page 2: a woman jumped out of a first story window," or something like that, and "and now you know, the rest of the story." I never knew what he was talking about. I didn't grow up listening to Paul Harvey on the radio and so when he'd do these quick spots on the radio during another show I was listening to, I was lost! "Who was Paul Harvey, anyway?" I asked my parents.

For a lot of our culture, when they hear about Jesus and they see a quick thing about Him, they may think it's nice, or He is nice, but they don't know any other background. So it's easy to dismiss Him, or think He's just one voice among many for so many in our world. But that's what most hear when they think of Jesus. He said some nice things (like other good people) and did nice things. That's it.

It's no wonder that most of the world doesn't bow down to Him: He's just a good guy. But we know Him as God. We know "the rest of the story," or at least we desire to know it. We know Him to be our Salvation, and our life. Thank you for your support of Holy Family Radio, which seeks to tell the world "the rest of the story"! God bless you!

Scripture of the Month

2 Timothy 2:11 - Here is a saying that you can rely on: if we have died with him then we shall live with him.

Update from Russ Fry

This month I want to thank our Business Supporters. They have been fantastic and continue to be a Godsend to our radio station. Please support them. You can find the listing of our Supporters at this link. We are also looking for support from all the local parishes of the Diocese. We are in the process of contacting the pastors to ask their help by having a fundraising event for the station. You can help by talking to your pastor and encouraging him to help us raise money to continue operations. Finally, I hope that you have a Blessed Lent this year. God Bless!

March: St. Joseph

Major Solemnity: The Solemnity of St. Joseph (March 19)

Although not much is written in the Scriptures about the earthly father of Jesus and spouse of the Blessed Mother, we know that he was a holy and just man. He humbly accepts his role in salvation history and faithfully followed God’s will for him and his family.

St. Alphonsus Liguori is one of many saints who encouraged devotion to this holy man. He said: “We should, indeed, honor St. Joseph, since the Son of God Himself was graciously pleased to honor him by calling him father...If, then, the King of Kings was pleased to raise Joseph to so high a dignity, it is right and obligatory on our part to endeavor to honor him as much as we can.”
