Students Exceed Fundraising Goal
Enormous thanks to Hulda Sun, Priscilla Ramirez, Vedanti Kumbhar, and the many other undergraduate students who initiated an ImpactUTD campaign in support of the children and families served by CCF outreach programs. The students more than doubled their fundraising goal! With this support, we are broadening our Play With Me program offerings for the spring semester. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this campaign!
Recruiting Infants for Studies on Humor and Language
The Infant Learning Project, led by CCF faculty affiliate Dr. Melanie Spence, is recruiting infants for two different online studies:

  1. Infants between 5 and 10 months are invited to participate in a study of how babies perceive humor and social interactions between others.
  2. Infants around 6 months or 10 months, who are exposed to mostly English or mostly Spanish, are invited to participate in a study about language preferences.

For both studies, parent access to a computer is required. For more information, please contact the Infant Learning Project lab at infantlearningproject@utdallas.edu or 972-883-3649.
From the Director
Our year-end fundraising was very successful; I'm so grateful to our students for the part they played and to our many donors who are supporting the Center's work. The campus is quiet right now, but we are looking forward to welcoming back our students for classes starting next week and for the resumption of our community-based outreach programs beginning at the end of this month. The spring semester will bring some exciting events and activities including a professional development series for our NSF Research Experiences for Undergraduate student fellows, the reopening of our Play With Me program in Pleasant Grove, a screening fair in the Bachman Lake community, and a spring lecture series--stay tuned!
