$1.2M High Dune Trail Gains Approval

"Ocean Shores Mayor Jon Martin said Monday he signed a $2,800 land-use easement granting the city access to build the proposed High Dune Trail across a 200-foot land parcel west of the Lighthouse Suites Inn.

Martin said with funding already secured, getting the right-of-way was the last major hurdle to starting construction, pending further environmental review and discussions with the Washington Department of Ecology.

According to Martin and City Administrator Scott Andersen, construction on the projected $1.2 million trail — a paved, wheelchair-accessible walking and biking path stretching from Damon Road to West Chance a la Mer — should break ground by spring 2023."

Shores Spotlight

Pizza Factory Ocean Shores

Pizza Factory Ocean Shores opened their doors in early 2022 marking the first of the chain in southwest Washington. Co-founders, Margaret Dawson and Stuart Corcoran are both full-time residents of Grays Harbor with properties in Ocean Shores and Ocean City.

The area holds a special place in both of their hearts as Corcoran grew up in Pacific County, while Dawson had spent over 50 years traveling to Ocean Shores.

As a brand, Pizza Factory prides itself in serving and bettering the community. Earlier this month, Pizza Factory graciously donated a check for over $1,000 to support the Ocean Shores VFW Post 8956.

As a testament to their support of Grays Harbor, Pizza Factory was nominated for New Business of the Year at the GGHI Leader's Banquet & Business Recognition Awards.

GGHI would like to thank Pizza Factory Ocean Shores for setting the bar high for business success in Grays Harbor County (and for serving delicious pizza)!
