"My "no" vote reflects my belief that rent caps are the wrong approach to stabilizing our County's housing crisis. The rent cap formula selected by the majority of our Board for next year does not include mortgage costs. Inflation is real. Further burdening property owners who also have bills to pay - such as rising homeowners insurance - and are struggling to keep up with costs is unbalanced and the wrong approach."

VICA Advocates in Support of Delta Conveyance Project

On Monday, VICA called into the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California's One Water and Stewardship Committee to voice support for the Delta Conveyance Project.

The recent publication of the Department of Water Resources' Benefit/Cost Analysis indicates that this project is a critical investment for California, ensuring water reliability for 27 million people and vital agricultural businesses.

Beyond securing environmental sustainability, the project promotes economic prosperity by significantly increasing the economic returns compared to its costs. VICA recognizes this project as essential for enhancing the state's resilience to climate impacts and regulatory changes, fostering long-term economic growth and stability.
