YOUTH MINISTRY NEWS

FOR NOVEMBER 22, 2022

It might sound cliché, but we really do have so much to be thankful for! I am incredibly grateful for the amazing community of students, parents, small group leaders, and volunteers who make DCPC Youth possible. Wishing all of you a happy Thanksgiving!

LIVING OUT OUR VISION THIS WEEK

DCPC worships this Sunday at 8:45 am (traditional), 9:45 am (casual), & 11 am (traditional). All worship services are in the Congregation House.

Youth Music is not meeting this Sunday.

Screen & Scripture (intergenerational Sunday school class, 9:45 am in the youth lounge) is wrapping up our conversation about Black Panther this Sunday!

No Youth Group this week.

A great place that our middle and high schoolers can make a difference is in DCPC's Children's Ministry! Talk to Jenny Alexander if you are interested.

SUMMER TRIPS SURVEY

Thanks to your feedback, we have a slate of summer trips that we want to gauge your interest on! Visit this page, read about the offerings, and then take the survey to let us know where you want to go and when. The survey is open until November 30th and then trip registrations will start on December 7th. And to say thank you for completing the survey, you will receive a code to get $25 off a summer trip.

THE CHRISTMAS PAGEANT

This year's Christmas Pageant will be held on December 11th at 4:00 pm and we are excited for our youth to be in leadership for this special worship service! The next rehearsals are Sunday 12/4 at 4:30, and Saturday 12/10 at 10:30 am. If you want to be an actor in the Pageant, send a reply so we make sure we get you on the list. If you want to sing or play an instrument, please contact Sarah.

YOUTH PARENTS DINNER - 12/4

All parents of middle and high schoolers are invited to join other parents for dinner during Youth Group at Mandolino's on Sunday December 4th. Drop off your kids at the Congregation House and then join us for dinner and an opportunity to connect with other parents who are in the same boat as you.

FALL RETREAT FOLLOW-UP

We had a great Fall Retreat last weekend at Camp Canaan! You can see some snapshots of our adventures here, listen to the soundtrack for our weekend here, and parents can get more information on how to continue the conversation on the Fruit of the Spirit by clicking here: middle school | high school. Huge thank you to the students and leaders who made it all possible!

JOIN THE KITCHEN TEAM

In order to ensure that we can continue to provide our youth with meals before youth group, we need your help! Would you consider committing to two Sundays between now and the end of the year to volunteer in the kitchen to provide meals? It requires arriving a little early at 4:45, and helping set out food and utensils, making drinks, and cleaning up afterwards. Thank you for making our youth group meals possible and sign up today!
