BISHOP'S LETTER TO THE CONVENTION - The Bishop's official Lettter to the Convention (postcard) was mailed out to all delegates and clergy of the Episcopal Church in Hawai'i. If you did not receive one, please contact Rae Costa to be sure we have your correct address. You may also read the letter now posted on the Convention webpage.

PALAKA STOLE REMINDER - Order your red palaka stoles for the clergy group photo being taken during the Convention Eucharist on Friday, October 20. The Bishop requests that clergy dress with your red palaka stole if you have one. If you do not have one yet, you can order them HERE. Cost is $45, and will be made by the Episcopal Church Women of Hawai'i. Be sure to include include your height.
Baby McCallister Has Arrived!
The Rev. Katlin McCallister of Holy Apostles, Hilo, delivered her healthy baby girl on Thursday, June 15, 2023, at 10:19 PM. Baby Tessa Rosalie weighed in at 6 lbs. 15 oz., and 20 inches long. Pastor Katlin thanks everyone for their prayers and ​says they are both in good health. Please keep Katlin and Tessa Rosalie in your prayers! (From the Holy Apostles' website.)
Diocesan T-shirts Available for Purchase
The Diocesan Support Center has a limited number of GOOD (not the misprinted) Diocesan t-shirts available for purchase. These are the EYE23 fundraiser shirts. The crew-neck t-shirts are $20 and come in red, grey, blue and purple, sizes S-4XL. There is only 1 Large Women's V-neck in purple for $25. If you are interested in purchasing any of the t-shirts, please email Rae Costa. First come, first served.

The theme is "A Splintered Vine Bears No Fruit: The fracturing of American Society and how the church can heal the breach" with guest speaker Jay Wittmeyer from the Lombard Mennonite Peace Center. Succcessful Girl Scouts Project at St. Peter's
On Sunday, April 30, 2023, St. Peter's member Alli Yee and her fellow Girl Scouts,Tamara Lum and Mari Cheng, collected monetary donations for their Senior Girl Scout project--providing sanitary products to the girls' restrooms at St. Andrew's Priory. In thanksgiving for the donations, they had packaged yummy sweet treats for donors! The Girl Scouts project, was a huge success, enabling them to buy enough products to supply St. Andrew’s Priory for a whole year, including containers for the supplies in the bathrooms. They even had enough supplies to donate to St. Peter’s Church bathrooms as well as La Pietra School for girls. (From the St. Peter's newsletter)
Enjoying Enchanted Eats at Emmanuel
Emmanuel's first Enchanted Eats event on June 10 was a huge success, and they are looking forward to the next two events on July 8 and August 12! All are invited to come down to get your fill of ono food and beverages from a variety of food trucks, between 4:00-8:00 PM. Coming Up: Free Suicide Prevention Workshop
"A Hundred Million Reasons: Keep Me Where The Light Is" is a free workshop on Sunday, July 9, 2023, from 2:00 PM-7:00 PM, at the Manoa Library, 2nd floor, 2716 Woodlawn Drive in Honolulu. This event is sponsored by Samaritan Counseling Center Hawai'i, in partnership with the City and County of Honolulu Grant-in-Aid program. Check-in starts at 1:30 PM. Dinner is included.

This workshop is presented by Pua Kaninau-Santos, ASIST trainer, SAFETALK provisional trainer, Aloha, Mo'olelo & Suicide Prevention Basics Facilitator, and is for family, friends, parents, community members, youth leaders, and faith leaders to learn strategies for suicide prevention and develop resilience in your lives.

You will discuss strategies to have safe and supportive conversations about suicide and learn about the community resources available to people at risk of suicide. There will be interactive sessions so you can discuss what you learn in a safe, supportive environment.

St. John's Founder's Day Cemebration
St. John’s Founder’s Day Celebration will serve up a delicious Chinese feast in honor of Rev. Shim Yin Chin and Family on June 24, 2023, at 6:00 PM. The ono menu includes Sin Pin’s Chicken with Black Bean Sauce, Mei Hong’s Walnut Shrimp, En Pin’s Noodles, Mandarin Salad with Plum Dressing, Rice, Dessert and Beverage. The event will feature Chinese Entertainment. Ticket prices are Adults: $20, Youth Ages 12 and under: $10, Children Ages 4 and under: Free. This Sunday! Organ Blessing and Concert at Christ Church
Christ Church Episcopal welcomes all to attend the dedication and blessing ceremony of their new organ on Sunday, June 25, during the 10:00 AM service, followed by an afternoon reception and organ recital by Rick Mazuroski, at 2:00 PM. Camp Mokulē'ia on the North Shore of O'ahu is coming to Hilo! Camp staff will hold a Day Camp at Church of the Holy Apostles, July 24-28, 2023, daily from 8:00 AM-4:00 PM. All keiki in grades 1-5 are invited to come and enjoy this fun-filled and aloha-centered experience. The Day Camp is led by highly trained Camp Mokulē'ia staff and will include games, arts & crafts, spiritual formation, and much more! Lunch is provided daily.
