WINTER 2022-2023

We apologize for the duplicate email - one of the links to our Santa's Trains recap video changed. We wanted to make sure our park patrons had the opportunity to see the video. It is correct below. Thank you!

Happy New Year!

The park was bustling with holiday spirit over the past month with the return of Santa's Trains and our annual Winter Wonderland Light Display. It was so great seeing this event come back in such an astounding way for our community. Read more about the brief recap of Santa's Trains in this newsletter.

We also ran our first "Celebrate the Holidays in Florence" contest, a monthlong competition among local businesses to showcase their holiday spirit leading up to Santa's Trains. After thousands of votes among ten great organizations, we were able to crown our first winner! Check out the final results below.

Lastly, as many have heard, I am proud to have been named permanent Executive Director of Look Memorial Park after serving in an interim basis over the past several months. I am looking forward to an exciting 2023 and beyond with our outstanding park community. Thank you for all of the support we received in 2022 - this park is special because of each and every one of you.

I look forward to seeing you in the park soon!

Executive Director

Santa's Trains Returns to Look Park

The return of Santa's Trains resulted in a grand total of 15,210 people stopping by our 10-day holiday event. To put it in perspective, when we last ran Santa's Trains in 2019, we hosted 9,118 people over 14 days!

We cannot thank our generous sponsors enough (who can be seen at www.lookpark.org/santas-trains), along with fantastic volunteers, staff, and community leaders.

Visit our Facebook and Instagram pages to see our abundance of photos from all ten nights!

Pelis named permanent Executive Director

The Look Park Board of Trustees has voted unanimously to name Justin Pelis the 5th Executive Director of Look Memorial Park. Pelis has served as the Interim Executive Director since July 29.

"Look Memorial Park is special to so many people. It evokes a different meaning to everyone, but in the end, the park is a place where memories are built between families and community. I’m proud to be the newest Executive Director of Look Park where my vision and contribution will live on in the hearts of the community for years to come. That was the intent of Mrs. Fannie Look when she set forth to memorialize her late husband Frank Newhall Look in 1928. As Executive Director, I honor the responsibility to preserve Mrs. Look's vision while also being responsive and adaptive to the changing needs of our patrons and communities. Thank you for your unwavering support and I look forward to seeing you in the park!"
