Congressman Scott Fitzgerald (WI-05) hosted a ceremony at St. John's Northwestern Academies to celebrate this year's U.S. service academy nominees from Wisconsin’s Fifth Congressional District. 


"I am very proud of this year's class of nominees to our U.S. service academies. These students excelled in a rigorous, and lengthy selection process, demonstrating their high qualification to attend our prestigious military academies, said Congressman Scott Fitzgerald. It is my honor to recognize them on behalf of the 5th Congressional District of Wisconsin for their achievement before they embark on the next chapter of their lives."


Michael Wawrzyn, a current KMHS senior has been named an alternate nominee to the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. Best of luck as you await an offer of appointment to the Naval Academy Michael!

Kettle Moraine Seniors Ava Heimsch, Gabby Holzhauer, and Myla Glaser are working to raise money for The Friends of Lapham Peak. The Friends of Lapham Peak Habitat Restoration Work supports and maintains the health of our local forest while managing invasive species. All the while upholding an essential part of our community. To support the organization, the group put together a raffle basket including two two-hour kayak or paddleboard sessions through Lapham Peak, a twenty-five dollar Culver’s gift card, two ten dollar Mama D’s gift cards, a fifteen dollar Blue Collar Coffee gift card, and a fifteen dollar gift card for Element Style. For a chance to win, raffle tickets are selling for a dollar each. All money from selling raffle tickets will be donated directly to Lapham Peak’s restoration efforts. Tickets will be sold during C lunch and the winner will be picked on the announcements TOMORROW, Friday, January 20th.

Beat the January blues with a night of laughter at "Saturday Night Lasers," the KMHS original sketch comedy show! Inspired by the well-known late-night television show Saturday Night Live, KM Drama Club takes the stage on January 28 @ 7 pm with a great show for the whole KM Community. A fully student-written and produced show, organized by KM Drama Club Officer, Adeline Cramer as part of her senior portfolio project. Tickets are $5 and available at the door.

Are you a Junior who is interested in learning more about the local, county, and state government? Then you should attend an advisory session on Thursday, December 15th to hear from KM Badger Boys and Girls who will be there to share their experience with Badger Boys State and Badger Girls State.

The Wisconsin Leadership Seminar (WILS) will be holding its annual leadership seminar for outstanding high school sophomores from across Wisconsin. The seminar will take place on June 9-11, 2023, and will be held at Carroll University in Waukesha, WI. WILS provides outstanding high school students with the opportunity and encouragement to recognize and develop their leadership potential. Please visit the Summer Enrichment page on KM's website.

The World Affairs Seminar (WAS) will take place Saturday, June 24 through Friday, June 30, 2023. Delegates will gather at Carroll University to learn, interact and exchange knowledge and culture. Attention students interested in earning their CNA during Summer 2023.

 

WCTC will be hosting two information nights regarding their Summer YA CNA offerings. The first is Thursday, February 2nd from 5:30-6:30 pm and the second is Wednesday, February 8th from 5:30-6:30 pm. The more students we get to attend one of these evenings, the more slots KM will receive. If you are interested in the possibility of becoming a CNA please attend.

Attention KMHS students, take advantage of a winter ACT Prep course through Wisconsin Test Prep. The 7-week class will start next week. There are two sessions being held at Mukwonago High School: Wednesdays from 7-9 p.m. or on Saturdays from 10-noon. Grace Groholski received a nomination for a chance to shine on one of high school basketball’s biggest stages: the McDonald’s All-American Games.


McDonald’s will reveal the final roster of 48 players later this month. To rising basketball stars, a McDonald’s All-American Games nomination is the culmination of hard work and determination spanning many years of constant grind in the gym to become one of basketball’s elite. Players were nominated by a high school coach, athletic director, principal, or member of the McDonald’s All-American Games Selection Committee. The top 24 girls and 24 boys will be revealed Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2023, on NBA Today between 3-4 p.m. ET on ESPN and announced across ESPN’s various social and digital platforms. The games will be in Houston this March.


Grace is one of only 3 girls nominated from Wisconsin - KK Arnold from Germantown High School, Macy Donarski from Aquinas High School, and Grace!

Grace Grocholski had 28 points and 11 rebounds to help lead the Varsity Girls Basketball team to a 61-40 non-conference victory over Eisenhower Wednesday. Braelyn Torres added 12 points, 5 assists, 4 steals, and 4 blocks while Briana Binagi had 8 points as the team improved to 13-1 overall. 


The JV team also won, defeating the Lions 42-27.
