Message from the Foundation Board Chair,

Tana L.H. Boerger

"There has never been a more important or exciting time to be a part of Central Carolina Community College. In the coming years, our influence as an academic institution will be more profound than ever before as undergraduates search for the best value in quality education. In order to support our deserving student body, we at The Foundation will continue to expand our financial base to ensure our ability to be of service to our scholars. To that end, we have created a robust calendar of events that will

highlight the extraordinary world of CCCC and enable us to share that world of possibility and dreams with a greater audience than ever before.

As always, board members are ready to contribute their boundless energy and talent to serve the community. Here's to a remarkable 2024!"

Thank you for your continued investment in your community college.

Thank You

Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation, and the CCCC Foundation are teaming up to provide access to nutritious food and address food insecurity. The Food Lion Foundation provided a $2000 Feeding the Hungry grant to support local families experiencing hunger. Thank you for helping provide food and hope for families in our community. #foodlionfeedscharitablefoundation

Dr. Emily Hare, Executive Director, was the featured presenter at Jonesboro Rotary’s meeting. The presentation gave highlights of all the good works of the Foundation, the James French Dreamkeeper Fund and how investing in the college improves lives for our local communities.

The CCCC Foundation would like to thank Galloway Ridge for allowing us to attend their Fund Fest event! We had a great time speaking to everyone and being able to thank them in person for all the support they have shown the college over the years.

Thanks to the Pentair Grants Program! The Central Carolina Community College Foundation has received grant funding from the Pentair Grants Program to support summer STEM programming for middle school students. Funds will be used to offer two STEM Academy camps: Junior Forensics Camp and Race Car Technology Camp. Learn more about these and other CCCC summer camps at https://www.cccc.edu/summer-camps/.

The Sanford Area Society of Shaggers presented a donation to the Foundation for the Don Buie Memorial Endowment. Pictured are Dr. Emily Hare with the SASS Board of Directors. We are grateful for their continued support of our students!

The CCCC Foundation has received a donation from the Rotary Club of Lillington to sponsor scholarship assistance for students in the college’s Applied Technologies programs.

We are grateful to the Rotary Club of Lillington for its generous scholarship support for students from Harnett Central and Western Harnett high schools who plan to study in one of the college’s Applied Technologies programs.

The Foundation was invited to last month's Pittsboro Kiwanis Club meeting. To discuss the impact the Kiwanis Club's donations to the college have made over the past several years since starting their scholarship

program. A special thank you to Dr. Sara Allen Newcomb, Dean of Applied Technologies, and Lead Instructor of Building Construction Technologies, Jeff Gannon, for attending the event and sharing excellent knowledge and stories of our students, college, and community. Last but not least, thank you to the Pittsboro Kiwanis Club for its generous hospitality and continued support.

The CCCC Foundation attended the Carolinas SPE/Education Night, during which two CCCC Computer-Integrated Machining students, Luke Mitchell and Daniel Vivas, were awarded scholarships.

We are very proud of all their hard work and thank Glenn Shearin, their Instructor, for inviting us to participate in the event. We appreciate the continued support from the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE).
