MESSAGE FROM RICKY

Dear Friends,

There are so many great things going on at the church this week! January is back in full swing!

This past Saturday our gym was packed as 140 kids (and their families) joined us for the start of Upward Basketball. This is a wonderful ministry that our church organizes for our community. I'm grateful for our many volunteers that help to make this such a great program. We'll be in the gym every Saturday for the next 7 weeks, so if you see a lot of cars in the parking lot, that's why!

We are also resuming our Wednesday night activities this week. We're going to be playing Bingo! Join us for some great food, fellowship, and fun. The week after we will resume our studies and programs, so I hope you make Wednesday nights a part of your routine in this new year.

Finally, on Sunday, I'll be preaching for the third week in our series on Back to the Basics. We've looked at the power of prayer, the centrality of scripture, and this week we'll look at our call to confession. We believe that each of us has fallen short of God's desires for us, but the Good News is that through confession and the Grace of Jesus, we can be forgiven. I hope you join us for worship this Sunday as we are reminded of the freedom that comes through the practice of confession.

Grace and Peace,

Ricky

FELLOWSHIP BINGO NIGHT

On January 18th, our Wednesday night meals and fellowship time starts back at 5:15 pm! We are kicking off the semester with a church-wide bingo night in the gym at 6 pm following the meal. We will not have bible studies that night, though choir and bells will meet as scheduled. We are excited for a night of fellowship to kick off a fun semester here at First UMC!

And don't worry, the prizes are AWESOME!

THANKS SO MUCH!

I would first like to thank everyone who volunteered their time by providing a meal on Sunday Nights. As we advance to the next semester, we are in need volunteers to provide and serve the snack supper for United Night. This is such a great way to serve! If you're interested, you can just follow the link below to sign up. Please email Nick with any questions!

MINISTRY SPOTLIGHT OF THE WEEK

CARE NIGHTS ARE BACK!

Location: Worship Center

So many people start the new year off with goals of budgeting and saving. But more often than not, we end up letting our budgets fall to the wayside. This is because most peopele are not taught how to talk about finances or financially plan. So we decided to take budgeting into our own hands this year! On our first Care Nights of the semester, join us at 6 PM in the worship center as our very own Allison Killebrew talks about finances! Invite a friend and come ready to learn! Because when you know better, you can do better!
