The Emmaus Road Ministry, a faith-based grief support group for those who have been impacted by suicide loss, will begin meeting on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month in September, from 10:00-11:30 AM at the church. Anyone who has lost loved ones to suicide or is interested in learning more about this ministry is invited to gather in the downstairs conference room this Sunday, August 25 from 9:15-10:00 AM. Hymnal Change

My Heart Sings Out

The third stop on our hymnal journey is My Heart Sings Out, the Episcopal Children's Songbook. It is a "collection of music that captures the hearts of children, keeps the attention of adults, and serves the sacred worship of all with songs from many generations and cultures." Our goal during this six-week segment is to highlight the youngest members of our congregation and intentionally engage them in worship. We think you may be surprised to hear that some of your favorite songs actually come from this hymnal!

Gun SMART Week

August 26 - 30

Next week marks the first annual Gun SMART Week — a time to come together to educate communities on the simple steps that everyone — gun owners and non-gun owners alike — can take right now to prevent gun violence: (Secure all guns in homes & vehicles; Model responsible behavior; Ask about the presence of unsecured firearms in homes children visit; Recognize the role of guns in suicide; Tell others to Be SMART.) To help ensure secure gun storage, Deacon Gary has free gun locks available in the church office for anyone interested.
